Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question :sorry:

Recently while walking across a road I fell over on my back. Nothing much except a grazed knee  but the next day I started to experience bouts of back pain , so I went to see a hospital doctor , had x rays done. The doctor prescribed 400mg of Ibuprofen 3 times a day. I’m not too happy taking any kind of drug and usually look for a natural alternative. I came across …. Kratom

So I’m now wondering if any one here has had any experience taking / using Kratom for pain relief  or any other reasons and how did things work out .

Thanks

I use kratom about twice a week. The formula my supplier has is 100 kratom leaves boiled with 6 litres of water. I drink half a cup.

As another poster has noted, it is quite bitter. I have a couple of sweet mango slices afterwards to remove the taste.

I find it works better on an empty stomach. IME there is mild euphoria for about ten minutes, followed by complete pain relief for 5-6 hours. YMMV.

Unlike pharmaceutical opiates, which block specific pain receptors, kratom seems to block all of them.

As another poster has noted, it is addictive, which is why I limit my use.

You are right to avoid ibuprofen, it has significant side effects, and does not do the kidneys any favors.

It's quite inexpensive on Lazada. While legal in Thailand, AFAIK it is illegal in most Western countries.

Would it work for playing sports...

As I age knees and ankles keep reminding me that I'm older than than think I am...    But I'm wondering if this stuff would be ok to play football on... i.e. still sharp and alert ?

I actually take it for when I am playing golf, I find it is relaxing as well. Back and leg twinges from a golf swing are gone.

I can't say if it would work for football, as far as mental acuity goes I might give it a try when posting.

Well, I'm sure it keeps you more lucid than LCD which I'm sure some posters must be taking regularly !!!  :giggle:

I might actually give it a try....  although I've never even seen it anywhere in Bangkok, although I've never looked for it or 'had my eye in' to notice it...

I've discovered 'taking a gummy' (marijuana) gummy before a long haul flight puts my factor for giving fu<£s down to zero...

I'm getting to the age now where its a case of the more 's#it' I can take means the more 's#it I can take' !!!
