Coldplay concert buzz dampened by cannabis fumes in Bangkok

The recent Coldplay concert in Bangkok, part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour, left an indelible mark on many Thai fans. However, the event was marred by some attendees by the pervasive smell of cannabis.

Artist Copter Panuwat encountered this issue firsthand, expressing his dissatisfaction and calling for more stringent control over public cannabis consumption. His concerns resonated with many on social media, who echoed the sentiment that while some may find cannabis use to be trendy, it can be a nuisance and health hazard to others.

The celebrated British band Coldplay’s concert at the Rajamangala Stadium was an unforgettable experience for many Thai fans. The concert, held at one of Bangkok’s most prestigious venues, was part of a world tour that drew massive crowds, eager to see the globally renowned musicians perform live.

The event had been highly anticipated, and for most, it lived up to expectations with its stunning audiovisuals and powerful performances, reported KhaoSod.

However, not everyone shared in the collective euphoria. Copter, a young artist, took to social media to air his grievances about an aspect of the concert experience that significantly dampened his enjoyment.

Gosh.  People smoking weed at a rock concert. Who'd have thought?

Like the guy who went to a football match and didnt like the shouting.

Nobody mentioned the traffic congestion in Huamak road and Ramkhamhaeng road since the afternoon?

This was a rock concert, no? I went to indoor rock concerts in the late seventies and eighties and, if you didn't smell nothing but weed back then, it was unusual. And this was an outdoor concert and people are still complaining? Sheesh! 🙄

Some of them actually paid attention and didn't just stand there with their video phones out?

A bit like in Hua Hin. One bangs into the 50-60 year old weed junkies here and there with all the fast food-style weed joints selling openly. The smell in some places is all over the pavements outdoors.

I'm sure it was for medicinal purposes only, not personal use.

Was that caused by cannabis consumption too?

I think the difference is these people are paid to complain.......:stoner:

Apparently no alcohol was served at the concert, and many were also complaining about there being too many Chinese present.

I took my daughter to an Allice Cooper concert in the 80s in Toronto.  Everyone was worried when I sat down until one girl asked if I was a cop.  Once I said no, everyone lit up.

The good thing about concerts is you do not have to buy you just have to get the CONTACT HIGH

a couple of thai friends went, they commented how few thais there there, mainly westerners and chinese. just shows thais have good music taste. :coffee1:

I bet the smell was strong.  Is smoking dven allowed there?

On a recent trip to Colorado it is amazing how these grow houses and even the pot dispensary /stores+ ,emit a strong odor while driving by with the windows up on the highway at 65 mph.   I've never neen to a concert where you could puff your lungs out without fear.

Coldplay Bangkok tickets begin at THB 1,800 and can go up to THB 7,800. There are also premium packages titled 'Kubick Experience' (THB 12,300), 'Supersolis Experience' (THB 14,000), and the 'Ultimate Spheres Experience' (THB 28,300)

no thank you...

A pity the "artist" didn't mention how many yobbos high on weed started fights in the concert.

Oh please. Such fake purity. It is a concert. Grow up. People have been smoking at concerts since the 1950's. These ninnies really need to get a life.

Indeed, rather than a criticism, this story highlights how moderate and developed Thailand is in some aspects...

I'm not into weed at all (perhaps the odd gummy to help sleep sometimes), but I find it extremely positive how moderate Thailand is with this issue... (although I'm also extremely cynical as to why)...

That people could openly smoke weed at a concert is excellent IMO....    and I don't even like the smell if it and find it quite pungent, but I like the freedoms involved with permitting it.

How about the pervasive air pollution?
