My other dream is that I'll walk into the bar and the Mamasan will say, welcome khun Michael, all drinks are free today and there's no bar fine charge, it's our once a month special to thank foreigners who live here for helping support our business throughout the year.

I don't see many getting out there and getting after it. One of mine is going Hat Yai to Mae Hong Son via issan. As many back roads as possible. I suggested a big bike for me and small for Mrs. She doesn't like the idea. She would agree to a car.

People have lost their sense of adventure.

You call that adventure ? what about trekking Kokoda track in PNG , Camping in Alaskan wilderness,

Trekking through the Amazon jungle ......riding a motorbike through Thailand might be more scary

though.

I'm not a Cruiser fan.🙂 But some do have a lower seat.

I have this one

For off-road I have a "farmer's Wave. So not really a Dream but easy to pick up.

Apart from a MV Agusta F3 675, I think my actual dream would be a CB92 Benly

My dream in Thailand is that one day I'll be driving down the motorway and a police car will pull me over. The officer will walk up to my car and say, I'm sorry to have pulled you over sir but you perhaps didn't realise that you were exceeding the speed limit by 5 mph and that can be very dangerous. Please drive more carefully and have a nice day.

It's a dream to drive around and not worry about speeding tickets.

Why don't you go do these things and report back with photos. The Kokoda trail sounds terrible to me. Hikinh through mud and jungle for no real reason.

MV's are beautiful looking bikes, I have a Z650 Kawasaki, nice and low seat. Bought a

KTM 200 Duke last week, on my tip toes with it, but not a heavy bike.

You always have the option of getting on your bike and going without the Mrs. After all, who makes the decisions in your family? You want some adventure take some adventure.

Maybe just maybe, you're the one who's lost the spirit.

So go for a month and sleep with other women? I could do that but that wouldn't be the right thing to do.

I have lots of dreams.

One is to live healthily for at least another 20 years (I'll be approaching 95 then) so I can continue to look after my b/f (approaching 55 then) and his benighted family.

Another is to win the lottery so I can buy a decent SUV able to withstand the Thai rural roads and my b/f's driving (unlike our little Mazda 3, approaching 8 years old, which was not designed for either).

And I would love to take my b/f to see Europe for the first time - take him to all my memories of Paris where I lived for 2 years, and to Spain & Portugal, and places I've never been in Central Europe & the Balkans (up the Rhine & down the Danube) ...

To die peacefully!

What's your dream in Thailand?

I'M LIVING THE DREAM. 👌

Thailand has been my home for over 20 years, I've been most places and done most things, I never get bored, I love Thailand to pieces, thanks so much Thailand 🙏

I like your thoughts regarding long bike ride but please don't take the mrs. If she gets hurt you'll never forgive yourself.

A few years ago I rode Pattaya to Koh Kong (Cambodia) and back, the best ride of my life but very dangerous. The big trucks coming from the other direction at speed, it's like hitting a wall, you must keep focused, it's not for the unskilled. The rain, it comes down sideways, I dumped the raincoat, bloody noisy, I rode for an hour in the rain then dried out the next hour, this went on for hours.

As you get closer to Cambodia, the views from Sukhumvit Road, it overlooks the ocean, those beautiful beaches,  narrowest part of Thailand.

I'M THE LUCKIEST GUY ON THE PLANET, THANKS GOD 👍

I don't have dreams anymore in Thailand.. I have a dream for Thailand... That the people could live in a real democracy instead of being a part of modern slavery for big earners, with a government that support only the army and themselves. With a justice system that is really justice..  The poor can stay and die in jail, and the wealthy  rich and famous can buy their way out.. and, a policeforce that is doing their job instead of chasing foreigners for their money. My dream is that Thailand is entering the 21st century, but as most dreams they will always be dreams and never come true...

I would like to see a cop on a motorway, or anywhere else, for that matter.......................🤔

Oh up here in Chiang Rai we see them quite a lot. You see up here along the border region with Myanmar ("The Golden Triangle", no longer heroin driven but still an important driver for the alternative economy) we get many VIPs who need to attend various meetings to settle issues - therefore regular motorcades from the airport, escort cars, motorbikes and closing junctions and guarding footbridges.

If the VIP is VIP enough they open the "Kraken dressing up box" and all sorts of SWAT teams and black clad balaclava helmeted Ninjas take to the streets, touting various rifles, SMGs and Gucci pistols. Saw a couple with cool flashlights attached to the barrels the other week - must have been watching "Rookies" on "Netflix"! Must be a quartermasters nightmare ensuring that the various calibres of ammunition are with the right people!

Once the motorcade passes they manage to disappear as if by manage.

So you do nothing. Just waiting to die.

Maybe I do lack a sense of adventure, but motorbikes seem stupid to me.

I prefer to save money until I can get on a plane.
