GammaGlobulin
Most people in Thailand love the Thai Myna bird. I am one who loves this bird, almost above all others. What can I do to attract even more of this species to my lawn? a. Should I use recorded bird calls from an audio speaker? b. Should I set up a Thai Myna Bird...bird feeder? c. Or, what would be the best way to have the maximum number of Thai Myna birds strutting around my property, anyway? This is NOT a JOKE Post. The Thai Myna bird provides me with an enhanced sense of wellbeing. Need some good input here. Thank you. Gamma
Tropicalevo
Have a pool and eat and drink outside. The little sods bathe and drink the pool water and eat any crumbs found on the floor. Then someone has to clean up all of their schitt. Also get wagtails and other birds.
daveAustin
Warg into a myna bird; they'll come flocking. But didn't you post a topic on this a while back? Get a grip, man! 🙂

bunnydrops
This time of year we have lots. At any one time, there are 6 or 7 on my gravel driveway. They are a bit skittish. Look at them wrong, and they are off. Unlike my favorite, the Zebra Doves which I almost step on every day.

Korat Kiwi
Should be easy for you GG.... Just go outside and act like a nut. (Maybe you don't need to act). They might even stay and listen while you recite some passages from Georgegeorgias' Psychometrics of Air. (Just joking)

A decade ago, I was wheelchair-bound for about five months, and completely alone. The Thai myna birds were my sole diversion. I love these birds. Smartest birds I have ever closely observed. I love them. Regards, Gamma
brianthainess
As above cooked rice, they come and eat what's left in my dog's bowl, (and his water) any old rice they love. They like spiders too. Sometimes they do a tap dance on my tin roof early morning. Edit dog and cat biskets. Edited March 3 by brianthainess
gomangosteen
Our wild area we've chosen not to develop too much, I cleared some of the medium height scrub/trees, thinned the larger trees and removed all the vines and their ongoing regrowth. Provided more sunlight and clean air flight paths around a pond about 15x10m. Over time the wildlife has increased, various water birds, two white egrets, racquet tail drongos, coucals, various other little ground birds who seem to prefer walking to flying. And your mynahs (prefer the h ones) birds. Add squirrels who help themselves to bananas and papaya. One water monitor about 1.2m set up residence mid last year I'm less fond of, though I won't mind if it takes out the wandering cats, or the pigeons. Korat Kiwi
Yes the mynas are smart/clever birds. They are very observant and they know when to sneak in to grab the cat or dog food. They can mimic other bird calls too.

They can also signal each other when a snake is in the area, and then coordinate among each other, to attack the snake. A green snake hasn't a chance when attacked by these birds. In addition: I have been recently teaching the local myna birds on my lawn rudimentary English grammar. Some of the birds that frequent my area can now count from one to 10. And, they know how to say, "Polly wants a cracker". Edited March 3 by GammaGlobulin
