Pattaya Tourism Flourishes with Free Thai-China Visa Policy and Upcoming Songkran Festival

Pattaya — Pattaya’s tourism industry is experiencing a surge in the number of Chinese tourists following the implementation of the free Thai-China visa policy, according to Mr. Boonkerd Suksrikan, Vice President of the Eastern Thai Hotels Association.

Mr. Boonkerd revealed that there is a significant rise in hotel bookings by Chinese tourists, particularly for stays extending into April, the month of Thailand’s word-famous Songkran water festival.

This surge is attributed to the Thai government’s support for the festival, which could potentially see the festivities lasting throughout the month. The free Thai-China visa policy, implemented on March 1st, allows Chinese citizens to stay within Thailand for up to 30 days per visit, with a cumulative stay not more than 90 days but within 180 days.

We don't need anymore Swiss here. I just read the 4th article in a week of Swiss guys assaulting Thai women here. If anything, we need to ban the Swiss from coming here.

That was a sarcastic comment. Thailand isn't banning no one but they need to tighten the process to get the desired one with no criminal records.

That would be beneficial applied to all nationalities.
