Last night, bars closed at midnight in Karon. Anybody knows why ? And was it a one day closure or will it be the new "normal" ?

According to some thai people, it was supposed to be midnight closure in all of Phuket, and related to the story of the swiss guy ! Really confusing ! Some of them say that the bars will close at midnight again today. Very strange. Anyway, i do not go to bars often, so i will not be able to confirm. Were the bars open after midnight in others places ?

Bangla was business as usual last night - I was there until 2am.

 

These random bar closures are a bit of an irritation when you don't know about them in advance - the same thing happens in Kamala every now and then.

 

Of course it is 'Womans day" the ladies have the day off today.

Actually it was on wednessay night March 6th, and i was attending bars with live music, namely No Name bar and Sutin. So not really the answer...
