The dental lab needs to be where the dentist is. If any adjustments are required how long does it take to get it sorted out? Btw, there shld be no problems once the implant is done. It must fit when it gets put in. Having seen a BBC docu about dental work in Turkey I'd find another dentist who uses a German lab. 

Can help you with a dentist in Bkk but not Pattaya.

Is it 6 weeks?

The pin needs to set/heal. Some heal quicker than others. About 4 months later they can start with the crown work.  All depends on the implant system used.

When I lived in Germany went to a Dentist his surgery was at his home in Berlin, you really have no idea what they do, years later had a problem in the same area, another Country the Dentist was shocked, the German Dentist had drilled and filled all 4 back lower teeth as one  so impossible to repair just one,. so lost 4 teeth in one go.

Several dentists I've been to have commented upon the 'workmanship' upon my teeth. All done by U.K. National Health Service dentists.

My brother had an implant done in Chiang Mai quite a few years ago.  He couldn't wait for the healing phase to be over and went back to NZ. 

 

He finally went to a NZ dentist who was confused by the implant.  A few calls later and the NZ dentist said all was good.  The Thai implant was top of the line and the NZ dentist had to wait 2weeks to get new equipment and complete the job. 

 

The NZ dentist was very impressed with the Thai workmanship. 

 

So there you have it.... Go and ask questions.  I'm sure you'll get good service.

Dr. Warren did a decent job on a lower molar implant 35,000 in 2022, but a few months later he was working on an upper molar with a fused old metal crown, opened a hole in the crown and suddenly stopped in the middle of the procedure, gave up saying I should go to a specialist with no recommendation of who to see or what to do, very unprofessional. I will never go to him again. Unbelievable behavior for a so called professional and also if you notice the staff is always in a bad mood...

I think the fact that he stopped when he realized that the procedure was too complicated for his skill set and experience was a good thing. Better than continuing and destroying the tooth. But I would be upset also if I wasn't given an explanation and recommendation where to go. Don't blame you for going elsewhere.

 

I have only used him for implants and am happy with them. I don't use him for other dental work. He has done many implants, probably in the hundreds at least. Implants are very routine now and in my opinion are simpler than a root canal. I'll continue using my dentist at BPH for everything else though.

Just took my chances with another dentist who said he could do the job and then 6 months later the root canal failed and I had to get an implant.

How long does it take from start to finish for a dental implant of a molar and how many times do you have to go in? Is it a 6 month time frame from start to finish with a few appointments in between?

I had my first root canal front tooth, lasted four years before it had to go

Implant in now. Same day extraction and and implant from oral surgery specialist in Santa Monica

No bone graft, You have to have good bone  to qualify for this procedure.

4 months later come back for another xray to check

Then back to regular dentist to replace the temp tooth with permanent

 

Problem. One impant is $4500 USD! The permanent tooth is another cost.

Far. Just a price comparison and explanation of the treatment process whilst seeing a recommended and trusted provider.
 

I only deal with noted experts when it comes to my elective health care. 
 

I got my root canal in Japan during covid. It lasted 4 years before pain and infection. set in. Not saying it is their fault but as for my dentist in US, UCLA trained, well she was never impressed with what she saw on the x-Ray. Neither was the oral surgeon in SM.

In my case it will be four visits. The total time can be anywhere from 3-6 months. Generally the longer you wait after the initial implant the better.

 

Ist Visit - Consultation and extraction of damaged tooth. Needed to wait one month after extraction before getting implant.

 

2nd Visit - Drill into the bone and install implant, close the area up and wait 3-6 months. I had a follow up visit 10 days later so he could just make sure everything was ok. No infection etc. I'm not counting that one since it could be considered optional.

 

3rd Visit - Open the gum over the implant and install post on the implant which is left exposed. Then an impression was taken to make the crown.

 

4th Visit (next week) - Have crown installed. That should complete the process. Total time will be a couple weeks less than 6 months.

I have 4 implants, 3 months from start to finish. I used a clinic across from Tucom for my first 2 and then used Jomtien Dental for my next 2, I am much happier with Jomtien Dental clinic, they are on the road to Jomtien Beach next to the Subway across from Tinnys restaurant.

This is going back 2 years I paid about 45k Per, 1 visit to get xray, 1 visit to implant, 1 visit to open gum and insert post, 1 visit to put on crown and get it properly adjusted to my bite.

That's about the same as in EU's best places. $ 1349 / 1205 euros. It's OK when work is good.

In Spain, in a good maxillofacial clinic, it costs half as much. 700 euros. Also in 2022.

 A little off subject vangroup-- I am in Issan and 3 friends recently had implants-- after researching they all went for Zirconia Dental Implants above the Titanium Dental Implant---South Korea is now one of the leaders in Man Made Diamonds--- there are several  advantage 's to them---- less rejection from the body --they are white but they cost about 4,000 Bhat more, so to get an implant in Issan is about 35,000  probably 15--20K less then BKK...but thats the joys of living in BKK I guess.

I had a lower molar implant done. Waited for 3  months before the implant was done. New bone growth was sof enough to drill easily. I had another implant to replace a missing upper tooth. That had been gone at least 5 years. The bone was very hard and harder to drill. That was less comfortable and took longer to do. Still tolerable though. That was Mahidol university dental hospital done by professors. Cost was about 60K each using Swiss implant material. Cheaper material gives a cheaper total cost.

Good practitioners in the USA are far superior then any I have found in Thailand. I'm not sure why but things get done correctly. You need to goto a top dentist though.

 

In Thailand it feels like everything requires multiple visits for future problems. It's like they are missing something by rushing or just can't do a thorough job. Or an impulsive recommendation is made, then it's discovered later it needed something else, etc.

 

Also, Thai dentists have great difficulty giving professional treatment recommendations. They want the patient to decide the course of treatment, like they are afraid of being wrong. They have a hard time deciding what needs to be done right away and what can wait  (treatment priorities). I'm not into that at all. I want an expert recommending the best course of action.
