Thaksin to visit Pheu Thai party on Tuesday

Convicted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will visit the Pheu Thai party on Tuesday, to provide an opportunity for the party’s MPs to meet with him, but he will not attend a party meeting.

 

An informed party source said today that it will be more convenient for the MPs than visiting Thaksin’s private residence in Bangkok and it will be an opportunity for the MPs to offer him their moral support, while maintaining his and his family’s privacy.

 

The source said that not all MPs will see him at the same time, but arrangements have been made for them to meet with him one at a time.

 

The source also said that Thaksin’s visit to the party head office is causing some excitement among the MPs and most, if not all MPs will show up on Tuesday for the “special occasion”.

So rather than making it an official meeting of the Phue Thai party leaders. He meets them one on one to tell them what to do. I guess Thais will believe he is not really officiating anything by meeting them one by one. So he is not really still leading them. haha.. Just meeting old friends at an official Phue Thai party leader meeting. He sure looks like he can walk and talk normally. I still fail to see why others do not protest his treatment when he was supposedly in prison so sick that he could not sit in a jail cell.

A convict on parole... meeting with politicians like this should be illegal... or at least any politician having a meeting with him should be kicked out of the party... but this is Thailand and it seems politicians and criminals have a strong bond.

Oh I expect they have been bearing it in mind since the coup which deposed him, (well put a stop to his re-election) and the subsequent pearl clutching, swooning, "prosecutions".

Interesting how the Thaksin-haters on AN never rabbit on about the assorted generals & their political acolytes who overthrew Thaksin & his sister.

 

I understand that one series of crimes doesn't negate another series of crimes but it would be nice to think that people might take an even-handed approach to ALL the assorted criminals who run this fine land. Prayut & Prawit never get a mention here for instance ...

I don't hate Thaksin..  neither the PTP really... nor Anutin with Bhumthaijai party

but they have all proved they are useless.

Thailand deserves so much more than these people can deliver.
