what a shambles that Thai gym scene is!!

talk about a bunch of narcissistic prima donnas!

awful.

I have cancelled my membership and have been refunded in full.

Never doin that again!

Today I have also liquidated the last of my Thai assets.

bringing the grand total to 852,575USD.

My flights are now booked,

I am taking my money and running for the hills!

never to return to this place.

Thailand is about to get savage,

hope you all enjoy doin' your 90 day reports and jumpin' through immigration's hoops every year, oh and don't forget being treated like a common criminal just because you are a farang 😉

that will all be a distant memory for me soon.

I have served my time, I think I deserve some kind of normality.

The grass is looking greener,

bob smith is just getting started!

regards,

bob.

90 days are handled by the girls in HR.

Work permit and extension are every 2 yrs.... and honestly is a pleasant 1 hour out of the office.... That I milk and take the afternoon off to go have a few beers as the visit to one stop always seems to fall on a Friday !

Always go where you feel you are treated best.

I moved here from the Philippines a few years back to see if maybe life can get even better than it is, and while LoS has a couple of significant advantages (namely better infrastructure and better local cuisine), the other bureaucratic hassles and cultural "nuisances"/quirks tip the scales back in favor of the Phils, (for me).

I don't regret any of my time here but look forward to being back in the Pines soon.

My main reasons:

Nicer beaches/waters/natural scenes (thousands of islands!)

Cultural similarity - Filipinos are basically like warm, friendly Mexicans who are easy to communicate with.

Immigration - 3 years without having to leave country, as well as a boatload of cheap PERMANENT visa options

Women - more compatible for a Western man for both marriage/relationships or single life (and just as nuts as they all are).

MUCH MUCH LESS louty drunk Brit/Aussie etc. tourist douchebags and a better if smaller quality expat community

Your posts are typified by a general sense of paranoia, if you aren't simply trolling (which I suspect you are), then I really think you need to seek help.

I don't mind doing the yearly thing, but the 90 days are absurd, I know it's easy to do but it makes you feel like a criminal, reporting to your parole officer every 90 days
