Like the old saying goes,

.. Eat anything you like, just not a lot of anything, ...

Many studies continue to show calorie restriction can extend life but at a cost to quality of life.

Daily fasting where you eat only during a certain window can be very effective for weight control,

but at the end of the day it's just thermal dynamics, more energy in as opposed to energy out and you're going to gain weight.

That's debatable, hormones play an important part which seems to be why some people struggle

There are very confusing messages about what we should eat to be healthy, and this is especially so for those who have chronic health conditions like diabetes.

All of the research I have done suggests that low-carb is the way to go (for both good general health and especially for those with blood sugar control problems / diabetics). Think keto or carnivore.

And the healthiest food you can eat? Red meat! Yes, it goes against the message that it is the mainstream media but this really does seem to be the healthiest way to eat.

There is a lot of really good information FROM DOCTORS on YouTube. As someone diagnosed diabetic, you might like to check out Dr Ken Berry or Dr Jason Fung or Dr Aseem Malhottra on YouTube as a good place to start.

Red Meat eating is not related to Diabetic problems but CHD as is no dairy products

red meat intake is associated with increased risk for progression of CKD.

Diets high in animal protein from meats and dairy products can cause kidney damage because they can be very hard to metabolize. This places a heavy burden on the kidneys, making it hard for them to eliminate waste products.

a older UK friend Diabetic followed for many years the Atkins diet = lots of meat and fat, made me sick looking at what he ate, but it appeared to work for him [lived most of my life overseas so mostly ate the  Mediterranean diet]
