Trump favorabilty among Latinos rising as Biden’s falls: Survey

The latest Axios/Ipsos survey reveals a significant shift in favorability among Latino voters towards former President Donald Trump, while President Joe Biden's ratings have seen a decline. The poll, conducted between March 22-24 with a sample of 1,012 Latino/Hispanic adults, indicates a notable decrease in Biden's favorability among Latinos, dropping from 47 percent in June 2023 to 41 percent in March.

 

Conversely, Trump's favorability among Latinos has experienced a modest increase from 29 percent to 32 percent during the same period.

The survey also assessed the favorability of other prominent political figures, including Vice President Kamala Harris and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley. Harris' favorability among Latinos declined from 42 percent to 39 percent, while Haley's rose from 18 percent to 25 percent.

 

Biden's reelection campaign has recently targeted Latino voters with an ad highlighting Trump's controversial comments about immigrants. In response, Biden emphasized the importance of diversity and criticized Trump's rhetoric, labeling it as divisive.

 

Despite the political discourse, the survey indicates a slight decrease in the percentage of Latinos who believe it is a "good" time to be a Latino or Hispanic person in the U.S., dropping from 56 percent in June to 55 percent in March. Additionally, respondents expressed concerns about inflation, crime and violence, and immigration, with a focus on these issues ahead of the November election.

 

Interestingly, while Latinos were more likely to align with the Democratic Party over the Republican Party, they expressed less confidence in Biden's handling of key issues such as inflation, crime, and immigration.

 

Overall, the survey highlights the evolving dynamics within the Latino community and the shifting political landscape as the November election approaches. With both parties vying for Latino support, understanding these trends becomes crucial for shaping campaign strategies and policy agendas.

Still a long way to go till November for any correction on favorability. Enough time for Trump to make another gaffe to upset the Latinos like he did with his abortion speech.

I suspect that's a more pragmatic reason to move away from voting Dem.

It is just over 1000 voters hardly a figure to go and bet on .If they poll a different 1000 and they have Biden surging ahead will trump supporters ramp up the achievements of their party?

As seen time and time again they can not govern and I don't know why they oppose any gun bills it would save them pain as they love shooting themselves in the foot

Latest betting odds have them both tie at +110 each with similar implied probablity of 47.6%. Change is in the air and the momentum is now with Biden.

I can't imagine Biden's handlers allowing him to be in a debate with Trump, unless he has a hidden earpiece that can tell him what to say. Perhaps they can disguise it as a hearing aid,

I often wonder the same thing, but I think the reality is that the political process now is so filthy, Washington is so toxic, and the animosity between the parties is so virulent that nobody with the right mind, nobody of nobility or honor would even consider running for the most toxic office in the land, which is the presidency. The same applies to the House and Senate.

 

Only people with a great deal of megalomania, thirst for power, and thirst for money run for this office anymore. It now attracts only dregs like Trump and DeSantis.

Biden is a dreg, but he's not as filthy or despicable a dreg As Trump. Harris is as filthy a dreg as we've seen in a half a century. The only other VP that was on her level with Spiro Agnew. 

She was a horrific choice and if Biden loses she will be one of the reasons.

There we differ. IMO Biden is 50 years in congress worse than Trump, and it wouldn't be possible to get a dreg more dreggy than him.
