Report Sister of 'Joe Ferrari’ Urges Probe into Mysterious Prison Death
Picture courtesy of Siam Rath The sister of a former police chief who died in prison is urging authorities to resolve the mystery surrounding his death. Following the death of Pol. Col. Thitisan Utthanaphon, known as “Chief Joe”, in Klong Prem Prison on 7th March, his memorial took place on 10th March at Phra Si Mahathat Temple. On 29th June, Justice Minister Pol. Gen. Thawee Sodsong led the cremation ceremony at the temple. Mourners included family and friends, with many expressing sadness. Thitisan’s sister, Thananya Utthanaphon, aged 34, revealed that she and his partner requested the DSI treat his death as a special case, citing unanswered questions about its cause. However, Justice Minister Thawee stated that the police are handling the investigation, with no progress yet from the DSI. Thananya requested fairness from the police, noting her brother’s service to the nation. The family are distressed but willing to accept a suicide ruling if true, although they seek the reasons behind such a decision. The family decided to proceed with the cremation to preserve his memory due to the body’s condition after four months. Additionally, lawyer Weerasak Nakin mentioned a complaint filed to the NACC about the unnatural circumstances and the movement of the body, which is under review. The autopsy report has been submitted to the prosecutor, and further interviews with Thitisan’s mother and sister are pending as part of the investigation. 800k Not In the Bank Method
great conversations everyone. Now to a very related question: How are people handling the "new" taxation reporting rules about being in country for more than 180 days in a year? While I can do almost any of the long term retirement options/stays/visas, I am now more concerned about that taxation and tax resident thing. Anybody having any recent experience or issues with that? -

Report Thailand Tightens Alcohol Sales: New Rules Take Effect
You said it yourself: Enforcement happens in the west that doesn’t happen in Thailand. In the west, they'll always bust you and pin huge fines on you for even minor traffic offences. Western countries have gigantic, parasitic governments that are hugely expensive to support. Thailand is much more flexible, and cheaper to get yourself out of trouble, which is why we love the place.
