Talk about irrational exaggeration.  I've just walked down Soi 13 and Sukhumvit to Asoke, didn't see any garbage, any filth, there were no sewers on display, didn't see a single rat and I wasn't scammed.

ahh that explains it!

soi 14 is where you will find all that..

much love!

Incredible. And then the kindest Thai guard who still cleans him off with the garden hose. Even though I have nothing to do with it, I am deeply ashamed of this kind of behavior. Many tourists from the Western world have complained about the behavior of foreigners in their own country. And what do they do when they themselves are guests somewhere???????? I hope this man is immediately put on a plane with a one-way ticket back and never returns.

are there no toilets at the gas station? Or the Nana hotel lobby, or the shopping plaza across Suk.

Or just go into a bar and have another drink and use theirs/

This fellow is already completely balddered anyway.

maybe he just likes to take his morning dump alfresco!

Probably becase you walked down that area in the day time.

Try it at about midnight and you'll see otherwise.

I guess he can call himself lucky that nobody beat him up.

I thought this kind of thing as a regular occurrence in downtown Bangkok?

That's mental illness. Not on the same level as disgusting tourists and the like.

Yes.

You are correct.

This guy should not be an object of ridicule and revulsion

Rather, he needs both sympathy and therapy.

I would suggest the Freudian therapeutic approach, for starters.

Then, move on to electroshock therapy, or maybe insulin shock therapy.

Followed by:  An ankle cuff and chain bolted somewhere less conspicuous.

For sure, he requires a full mental workup, just to see what's going on.

It's hilarious... By all means indulge in the outrage but perhaps you should consider that behave and soi4 don't go together day or night....  That's man a Soi 4 legend now, give him a medal!

Decent behaviour and Soi 4 do go together, that is disgusting. Plenty of busy bars he could go to and find his way to the hong nam.

And I thought the Chinese had the corner on that particular behavior according to many AN OPs.
Guess not.  💩

Yes, not in the least funny when one little Chinese boy had to go in public once in Pattaya. Oh, the disgust and outrage. It became THE standard behavior of all Chinese seized by our bigots, mentioned here regularly. NEVER forgotten, still surfaces.

So good, now we have a counter example. Do we know if he's a Brit yet, so as to start the excuse industry?

find a toilet. not far to a shopping mall - ask nicely in a bar - better options than freely taking a sh#te in front of the world!

Not to mention that there is a complete lack of public toilets in Thailand.

The only ones that I can think of are the toilets at gas stations, and there are not many of those around soi 4.

Plenty of bars and restos around Soi 4 where he could stop in. Nana has a couple of toilets on the 2nd floor. Let's try to avoid blaming Thais for once.

Every mall and office building has free toilets. All over Bangkok.

Yes , disgusting behavior .

No wonder Thai people see foreigners as inferior .

Everywhere people think in categories ... he was a farang ... all farangs are like this ... Just as people say Thais are like that etc ...

But that is individual behavior , not everybody does this ... only mentally disturbed . drunk or high on drugs ...

Thailand wants tourists .

That is a part of what happens when you open the " floodgates " .

Thailand wants " quality tourists only ...?

The only way to get this , would be prices so expensive that only the rich tourists can pay them .

And , even then , Thailand would still get some ' crap ' tourists .

Not possible in Thailand .

If ' overtourism ' continues and Thai authorities will become fed up with misbehaving foreigners , they will set up some kind of financial limits that need to be fulfilled before even booking the flight ....

I think it's more likely that they're laughing at your "another nail in the wall" [sic']!   Brick in the coffin, perhaps?
