tirekicker
In April Immigration updates, I notice they now require GPS coordinates for house address / location when applying for Non-O visa (based on marriage) which previously was not acceptable. Popular Post foreverlomsak
Why don't they issue us with ankle tracker devices, that way they would know where we are all the time, doing away with the need for TM30 and TM47 (90 day) reports. 1 8

They presented an idea a couple years ago about a phone app that would track you. It was right before covid hit or right after it started, I can't remember exactly when

Great! Does that mean they have no need for a hand written map no more? Or, am I living the dream, to take a normal Mr Cheese slogan. Popular Post Stocky
Hat Yai has required a Google map with long/lat coordinates for several years, they also request a hand drawn version too. Whatever keeps them happy. . Edited April 23 by Stocky 1

Or, am I living the dream, to take a normal Mr Cheese slogan. At my small SiSaKet Imm Office they never asked me to provide a hand-dawn map to my place (which is approx 70 kms from the Imm Office). When I renewed my 1-year extension of stay a couple of months ago, the friendly Imm Officer asked whether I had a mobile phone and if I could show on Google maps where my address was. I am not very dexterious with that so he asked whether he could use my phone. He typed in my address, went on Street-view and virtually drove in the small soi where my home is, and then asked whether the house on the street-view where he stopped was my address. And on my confirmation he made 2 snapshots of our house with house-number visible and did then forward those snapshots with the exact GPS locations to his own phone. Took less than 1 minute! Needless to say that I was duly impressed. 4 3 1

alanrchase
Never been asked for a map before for my retirement extension but was asked for GPS coordinates for last renewal in March at Ratchaburi immigration. Another new request was the phone number of the house owner shown in the blue book.

MPoll
If they really want to know where you live then the GPS coordinates makes sense. It's just not something many expats are used to getting for themselves. If you have a smart phone it is easy enough to download and app the will quick and easily give you the coordinates.
Presnock
CM immigration officer put the coordinates on my original TM.30 after a couple of years of using it during my annual extension of stay. I didn't have to provide them with the coordinates.
