In April Immigration updates, I notice they now require GPS coordinates for house address / location when applying for Non-O visa (based on marriage) which previously was not acceptable.

Where does one find these 'immigration updates'?

At a guess, it's a hand out leaflet from an as yet unspecified Immigration office.

Why don't they issue us with ankle tracker devices, that way they would know where we are all the time, doing away with the need for TM30 and TM47 (90 day) reports.

They presented an idea a couple years ago about a phone app that would track you. It was right before covid hit or right after it started, I can't remember exactly when

Great! Does that mean they have no need for a hand written map no more? Or, am I living the dream, to take a normal Mr Cheese slogan.

Never been asked for a map before for my retirement extension but was asked for GPS coordinates for last renewal in March at Ratchaburi immigration. Another new request was the phone number of the house owner shown in the blue book.

Quick! Buy a GPS!

Most people already subscribe to carry a tracking device in their pockets.  :whistling:

If they really want to know where you live then the GPS coordinates makes sense. It's just not something many expats are used to getting for themselves. If you have a smart phone it is easy enough to download and app the will quick and easily give you the coordinates.

CM immigration officer put the coordinates on my original TM.30 after a couple of years of using it during my annual extension of stay.  I didn't have to provide them with the coordinates.

Which immigration office

My immigration office – i.e., the one I use – Surat Thani Province, Koh Samui, requires GPS coordinates and Google satellite map (item #7 in the menu card)...:whistling:
