A man was found dead in a forest area near the popular Karon View Point, situated between Kata and Nai Harn. The 40-year-old victim, Haschai Khaokhem, was discovered below the view point, near the Sabai Corner Restaurant, late Sunday night.

 

Police are currently working to establish how Mr. Khaokhem died. His body was found with his head on his backpack, wearing a head-mounted flashlight, with a pellet rifle close by. His death has not been linked to any violence or wrongdoing at this stage. An examination of his body revealed no obvious injuries or signs of foul play.

 

Reports say Mr. Khaokhem left home around 4am on Saturday for a walk in the area with a friend, who has been identified only as 'Mr. Chana'. When Mr. Khaokhem did not return home by Sunday evening, both his friends and the police were alerted. His body was subsequently discovered by Mr. Chana, who notified the authorities.

 

Mr. Khaokhem is estimated to have been dead for two days before his body was found. His remains were taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further investigation.

Maybe Mr Chana knows more than he's letting on?
