A French tourist has suffered a serious knee injury after slipping at Na Muang Waterfall 2 in Koh Samui, Thailand. The incident was reported to Koh Samui District Administrative Officials, prompting immediate deployment of tourist police, rescue teams, and local authorities.

 

The victim was part of a group of four friends hiking in the popular scenic area. While navigating the slippery, rocky terrain near the waterfall, the tourist lost her footing and fell, severely injuring her knee. Unable to walk, her friends quickly sought assistance from locals who then alerted emergency services.

 

Rescue teams arrived swiftly, bringing along essential equipment for a safe extraction. They administered first aid on the spot before carefully moving the injured tourist using a folding stretcher. Despite the challenging conditions of the rugged area, the team efficiently transported her to safety.

You don't have to go Hiking in Thailand for that to happen, can just as easily happen on any footpath or just crossing a road............ GFM coming soon ?

Don't worry about that... the doctor said they would grow back in a little while. 

The lengths to which posters will go to avoid praising the locals who helped the woman out...

 

Kudos to the locals.  Well done. 

 

 

No mention yet in the Samui sections but Namuang II claimed another victim on 13th last.

Luckily, he did not die.

Can anyone remember the count so far this year?

Well... its hiking, its not like walking on a flat footpath, thus from time to time tourists or anyone else will roll and ankle, tear ligaments, twist a knee, rip and ACL / PCL etc...     but when far away from 'mobile assistance' these rescue teams are essential - Props to them and good on Thailand for having them at the ready. 

 

I didn't see anything in the report suggesting the tourist was doing anything silly, such as taking a 'selfie' on the edge of a very slippery and wet area... (which is often the case).
