I am trying to put together a plan, the goal being to buy and register a motorcycle in my own name. I have done this a few times a long time ago but things have changed, it seems.

Β

I am in my fifties, in Chonburi province and on a DTV receiving 180 days each entry. I last entered 3 days ago.

Β

Here is my clueless plan.

Β

1. Get a TM30 in my passport.

2. Put down a deposit on a new motorbike and get some sort of letter from the motorbike dealer.

3. Take the letter to immigration to get a certificate of residence.

4. Take the certificate of residence back to the dealer. Pay the remainder of the cost of the bike. This should allow the dealer to apply for the registration in my name while allowing me to ride away with the bike.

5. Pick up the registration from the dealer within 90 days.

Β

What could possibly go wrong? πŸ˜‹

Β

Please let me know if this is the right way to go about this. I am pretty sure it isn't.

Wouldn't you need aΒ TM47 hence do a 90 report before being able to apply for the COR ?Β
Doing research for the past couple of days about how to get Γ  COR as I need to get one for TDL and I was under the impression that i had to wait to do the 90 day report.

(i'm in Samut Prakan, in casz anyone shines in with an answer)Β

Up till recent times a TM47 was required for COR at CW.

In very recent times reports of folk obtaining a COR without TM47.

Great for folk on tourist visas etc

Not sure about Samut Prakan.

I'm my experience I have obtained certificate of residence at CW just with a TM47 and photocopy of photo page pp.

The list that you quoted contained several things not required.

Photos one example.Β

Here is form CW usesΒ

Since I asked a question in this topic, and for anyone that might find this information useful, here's my follow-up from Samut Prakan immigration:

Β

For not loosing time in case my request was not approved I intended to do also a 60 days extension at the same time.Β

After getting my TM30 (online receipt) stamped (not sure what the reason was) the officer asked me to complete first my extension and then come back to the counter for the COR.

After my extension was processed I gave following documents for my COR :

  • Copy of passport data page
  • Copy of entry stamp page
  • Copy of extension stamp page
  • Copy of my Visa
  • Copy of the stamped tm30 receipt

There was no need for a tm47.

Didn't need more copies of my wife's bluebook and id (I guessed it was in the system due to the extension?)

Requested 3 certificates forΒ  : car licence , bike license and one for Bank just in case.

Only had to hand over one copy of the form and documents and 6 pictures (only had 4 on me, but was invited to bring the 2 missing one's in a week when documents will be ready).

No fees charged.

Β

Everything was pretty quick and all employees were nice and great to deal with.Β

Β

Β

cool:Β  like i said, always check ur immigration office as each has their own rulesΒ
