Bought years ago from Home pro

like this one   https://www.homepro.co.th/p/1103830?lang=en

Has never worked correct, Home Pro looked at it while still under warrantee [ maybe 10 years ago] = still the same

Have taken it to 2 different repair shops = still the same..

So problem = switch on fan works on 1, 2 and 3 but all are the same speed + not as fast as a 16"

leave it on for 1 hour = the casing is red hot, to hot to touch..

Anyone have any idea what is wrong or how to fix ?

It it is over 10 years, might not be worth a repair. As the problem existed since day 1, maybe a defective motor.

Fans get constant use here. Best and safest bet is to replace. You don't want it shorting and maybe causing a fire if you're not watching. Motor getting red hot is a warning sign to not use.

Yes > but this fan has had No use other than the repair 3 different shops, it has been covered in one of the bedrooms and looks like brand new..

it was well over  2,000 baht [if I remember 2,600 ?]

Have lots of fans, [12 in daily use] slowly replacing all with Sharp, as they appear strong and well made

It does sound like the motor has been defective from day one.

Fan motors (and other bits) for various Hatari fans are available on Lazada, the most complex part of the repair will be finding the exactly correct one.

Replace the motor, possibly the run capacitor alone  might fix it, but swapping out the motor assembly should do it. Make sure it comes with a new run capacitor if original has one. By that time, you might as well get a new fan.

Trying to have a sort out + take items to the recycle place ... things that no longer work get taken upstairs to a spare bedroom, so time for a clear out.. amazing what is up there, speakers, CD player x 2 many old computer parts form 20 years ago. old rice cooker, electric oven, Microwave all donkey ears old

This fan is as it were New, so is still in that bedroom....  Just find it odd that Home Pro themselves + different fan repair shops could not find any fault, OK non of them charged anything, but it was still the same..

Replaced many capacitors in different fans over the years..
