Having worked as a croupier in casinos in London, Iran and Greece I for one hope they don't open them here in Thailand. They are the cause of such misery, desperation and addiction because the only winners are the casinos. Thais will be like lambs to the slaughter. As a croupier I saw it first hand.

Casinos can be enjoyable to use if you have self control . I take only the amount of money that I can afford to lose . I treat it as entertainment . One thing we do not know is if Thais will be allowed to use them . My main concern is the regulating of the casino business in Thailand . E.G. in the UK casinos are under government regulation where the payout ( at least on slots ) is between 80-95% of takings .Will there be regulation in Thailand ? I do not think so . The tables cannot be controlled in that way . As you say , casinos can be bad for weak willed people , never the less , in Thailand gambling exists and the government are missing out on billions of Baht that could be claimed in taxes . Licensing casinos , horse racing , lotteries , cock fights yet banning online sports betting does not make sense . BTW the Thai lottery payouts seem on the low side , just 60% of takings .

Dear Thailand, if you legalise casinos you are inviting in the Chinese mafia with its associated corruption, murders, kidnapping, and people trafficking.

Before you make this insane move go to Sihanoukville Cambodia and see what has happened to a once beautiful and peaceful city.

Don't let greed blind you to the social disruption you will cause.

Cambodians can’t enter the casinos in their country. Perhaps Thailand can have a similar law for Thai citizens when the casinos are up.
In any case Thais and non Thais in Thailand are already flocking to gamble at the border casinos. Might as well let the Thais benefit from this.

Will the Gov then allow card games in Thailand - pinochle, hearts, bridge?

Or would this need a separate law?

Chrome pole dancing platforms probably occupy a mere few per cent of the floor space of "Nana Plaza" but they are the central reason for it's existence.

Who does he think he is kidding if he thinks people will flock to these casinos for "hotels and various entertainment facilities

Casinos like these are transparent about their gambling services. Stay Casino's no deposit bonus is advertised fairly, and their website https://casinosanalyzer.com/casino-bonuses/staycasino.com is quite convincing. For me, honesty is a key factor when choosing a casino.

Marketing a place as offering hotels and various entertainment facilities, suggesting a more family-friendly or upscale image, is a strategy designed to attract a wider audience.
