still kicking Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Not that I drink too much I just wonder how much do you guys' drink? It doesn't matter where you live. So, I don't drink beer at all just ones in the blue moon a nice Guiness, don't drink any spirits just a few glasses of red wine at night or late afternoon. So how much do you drink?
Popular Post BobBKK Posted June 27 Popular Post Posted June 27 I'm a wine drinker - and drink too much—a bottle when I drink, which is not every day but most days. I know technically it is too much but I'm retired and am not going to stress about it too much - my father drank far more than I do and died at 92. 2 1 1 1
Popular Post JeffersLos Posted June 27 Popular Post Posted June 27 A long island iced tea in the evening 3 or 4 evenings a week. Drank slowly it's very relaxing. 1 2 1
Popular Post Bert got kinky Posted June 27 Popular Post Posted June 27 Not a drop of alcohol for 5 years now, following a lifetime of being a total pish-head. High and dry now and much better off for it. 2 1 2 2 1 2
G_Money Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Probably more than I should. Evening drinker. Bacardi/Coke, drug of choice. 1
Popular Post theblether Posted June 27 Popular Post Posted June 27 In Scotland, 10 pints if I go out, and if I do go out it's a maximum once a week In Thailand, 10 large bottles of beer probably five days a week. On the odd occasion ( used to be regular ) I'll go on an all-night session and that's somewhere around 30 bottles in Thailand. To be fair, that's usually a twelve-hour session going home at 7am. I'm getting old, I used to drink a lot more than that on an all-nighter. 1 1 1
KhunLA Posted June 27 Posted June 27 I'm in the 'if at all' side of that. Don't even have any at the house. Stop buying boxes/slabs, as took too long to finish; 24 Beer Lao Darks (330ml) or Kopper Kraft (490ml). Might take 6 months to finish, and had to buy when filled within 2 months. Last bottle of Bacardi's I had, lasted couple years 2

mark5335 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 I was regularly drinking a bottle of gin per week for the last several years until a couple of months ago, when my annual medical check-up showed a big spike in my liver enzymes. So I stopped, and have switched to having an occasional San Mig Zero in the meantime. 1 1

I would probably be close to death and one of those incoherent Turkeys complaining about how the world is going to hell and explaining to everybody how it really should be :-). I want to live the rest of my days fully awake and not anesthetized with that crude drug alcohol until my last day. What a waste that would be. Edited June 29 by StandardIssue 1 1 2
NativeBob Posted June 29 Posted June 29 max 2 Asahi on Friday evening or 1 Asahi Friday and Saturday only if visiting friends since 2017 1
Popular Post n00dle Posted June 29 Popular Post Posted June 29 (edited) I knocked it on the head because the hangover was no longer worth it. it wasn't really a conscious decision, I just realized that I was no longer choosing to have a drink in all the old situations. Suddenly it was a few weeks, then a few months. I will have a drink or two on occasion, but I realized every time I get drunk, it is at the expense of too many other things I enjoy doing. only downside is meeting friends on a sesh and discovering they are all babbling morons weed is an entirely different story Edited June 29 by n00dle 1 1 2

Surprise surprise! When I have quit drink in the past NOT ONE of my drinking "feinds" sought to find me, I was a threat to their alcoholism .....they don't feel "safe" around non drinkers, they only feel safe with their own kind. I have known some that got off the plane, poured themselselves into the bar scene and literally came out in a wooden box acfew years later...suppose it was their pension "up to them" but if they had gotten 100 baht even time their ego was ignited by the "hansom man, where you go" squeeze, I would be a millionaire 1 1 1
richard_smith237 Posted July 11 Posted July 11 I haven't had any booze for a couple of weeks... But... I do like to drink.... very often I'll enjoy a G&T in the afternoon by the pool... I'll enjoy wine or beer with dinner... And when with friends, it'll be plenty of wine and beers... I'll enjoy a Whisky later on in the evening. And when with friends it might be a fair bit of Whisky... Thus... A normal week - at least one beer a day.. or one or two beers and a whisky... or a glass or two, or a few of wine.... With friends I'll drink more and get drunk... maybe a few times a week, maybe once a week, or maybe not at all. I like drinking, I don't have to have a drink, but I do enjoy a drink... I just do what I want when I feel I want to without a great deal of concern... ... I don't suffer much of a hangover so an get up and do whatever I want the next day... which means I don't miss-out on family stuff if I have been drinking too much the night before. ... I don't misbehave when drinking, so thats also not an issue, I just become more chilled, light hearted and more amused by stuff.
IsaanExpat Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Gotta be at least 70 proof to pass these lips. I like it mixed with Coke or Est while in the Land of Smiles..it's not that you drink too much, you're drinking too little....you're never TOO drunk, if you can lie on the floor without having to hold on! 1
jas007 Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I go through phases, depending. There were times when I would have a drink or two every day. And then there were entire decades when I didn’t drink anything. I think it more or less depended on my life at the time. School, work, retirement. Location also mattered. Consider Pattaya. The entire city seems to revolve around restaurants and bars. Probably not a good place for an alcoholic. Big cities can also be like that. Bars and restaurants on every block. Anyway, I’m sure genetics plays a role as to the extent of any resulting health issues. My grandfather came from Europe and always had wine every day, and yet it never affected his health. I wasn’t around my other grandfather all that much, but he smoked and drank. Both of those guys lived to about 90. Actually, everyone in those families lived to almost 90. Some lived to be over 100. These are people born around 1900, when the life expectancy was a lot less. Good genes, I guess. 1

Many decades ago I would meet up with friends in a local pub and drink three or four points of beer. Fast forward to now and I only drink decent red wine, and my intake is about half a bottle per evening with the evening meal, followed by a small glass of port and that's it. Having said that if I were to go out with friends I might end up having one bottle of beer that evening! I have been collecting (and drinking) wine for over 50 years and have refined my tastes, so I'm very choosy about what I buy and collect/drink! 1

Popular Post Basso53 Posted July 30 Popular Post Posted July 30 I gave up drinking booze at 67 in 2020, half a year after I got a stent in my heart. I used to drink a lot of beer, especially when I was in the Navy for 20 years. Now that I live in Chiang Mai, there's nothing here that makes me want to drink. But I have an old Navy buddy who owns a bar in the eastern province, and I'll have a vodka soda when I see him once a year. I also enjoy having a little ganja brownie in the afternoon. It puts a big smile on my wife's face when she gets home from work. 1 2
Popular Post Purdey Posted July 30 Popular Post Posted July 30 Stopped drinking for no other reason than I prefer talking with friends instead of falling asleep on them. 1 1 2

Given that you're not drinking the cheapest stuff, did you counted already how much money you wasted as a drunkard? You could have supported an orphanage or support several kids in there education.😳
Popular Post Dr Jon Posted July 30 Popular Post Posted July 30 These days I drink very little. I tend to spill most of it. 3

I don't think so, bro, and I donate monthly to an orphanage—not that it's any of your self-righteous, arrogant, and pompous business!!! 3 1
