Yeah sadly ol' Joe blew it. He's done his job (beating Trump last go) and now needs to step aside...or else the Dems need to oust him at the convention. The latter is improbable and would likely be a fustercluck. Joe's not up to another four and Harris is not the solution, tho there are combos that would surely defeat Trump...the con-man, sexual assaulter, cheater, insurrectionist, liar, thief, wannabe dick-tator and felon.

Philadelphia voters helped get Biden elected in Delaware, but only in Biden's mentally challenged dementia laden existence. impossible to believe the POTUS is a demented fool! Hope he hangs in there long enough to lose Nov 5th. I notice he has not accepted Trumps recent debate challenge nor has Biden mentioned the next debate with ABC on Sept 10. LOL....that would be good ole cheap entertainment watching Biden embarrass himself and America in the process. Could be serious business though as America's enemies may have a 4 month window of opportunity to strike due to the weak and feckless Biden who likely knows not what is and isn't reality now.

Biden: “quite frankly, not a joke…”

Hey just had one bad night out of 3 1/2 years of a great presidency, and it was all because of his recent brutal overseas flight schedule, that and the stress of you son being convicted of a felony and looking at perhaps more convictions on the way would take a toll on anyone.

I agree with morning Joe, this is the best Joe Biden ever!

Agreed. It is sad that he has one bas night and his colleagues turn into complete snakes and treat him like some old broken down pile of crap.

On the bright side he has a loving wife and son that don't waiver with the political winds. We all need to get back into the huddle and find a way to win with Joe.

Harris has a better chance than Biden. Whitmer would be better as she'd sweep the Midwest. But I think Biden's chances are complete toast. People aren't nearly as logical about issues as you seem to think

They would have a better chance with Moe/Larry or Curly

and  it won't matter ..  it will be  Trump in a landslide victory !

Keep up the momentum. And don't allow Harris to run. She is dreadful and she is widely disliked. They need to find a new candidate. Shapiro, Moore, Whitmer, or Booker, someone like that. Biden is not up for another four years.

Trump must be stopped, or locked up.

Trump must be stopped, or locked up.

You are not an advocate of democracy then?

Apparently you also think you know better than the millions of Americans that voted for and support Trump. Hmmmm, isn't that a bit arrogant?

IMO he is one of those.

Those colleagues were IMO waiting for an opportunity to dump him, and when it came up they were ready to go for it.

One bad night? LOL. More like 1,095 IMO. There had to be a reason Obama didn't support him as POTUS candidate after his time ended.

One bad night was obviously something i said in jest. Biden is a permanent vegetables and that's just a well understood fact.

Almost likely not possible because it's too short to build up a new candidate between end of August and 1. week of November.

Therefore: mission impossible

Seems the Dems are screwed as not having a well known replacement for Biden. If Trump steps down, DeSantis would be a likely winner IMO

I was wondering about that. It does help if you put something on the post to rule out confusion, something like 🙂

Meanwhile outside of the maga feverdreams the stock market has reacted to joes saying he’s not going anywhere with a new all time record breaking high as we continue to get a handle on inflation with excellent unemployment #s how many new jobs last month?200,000 if I remember correctly.as compared to trump……..not to shabby for a vegetable humm?

Trump said during the debate that he only stood because Biden did. I'm hoping that if Biden does step down Trump will do likewise. The world can do without another 4 years of the chaos of the last time.

However, if Harris is the candidate, I hope Trump stays on and destroys her.

Probably a desaster is coming anyway

Interesting twist these days- it seems that a lot of the prospective candidates to replace Joe this year are falling back in line.  A couple of reasons may be;

a/ they don't want to take the chance of losing to The Donald and torpedoing their chances going forward

b/ if Joe runs and loses, that makes the 2028 election wide open for them

c/ they won't get the money in Joe's election warchest and will have to start fundraising again

They may be behind Kamala taking the top slot also for the above reasons. She runs and loses, and 2028 is wide open.  There are a lot of Democratic governors waiting in the wings for their shot, and they are young enough to wait 4 years.  So much for Trump being such a threat to democracy, I guess.

You forget that pre-Covid, the Trump years were anything but chaos. The world was largely at peace, the economy was ticking along, inflation was low, real strides were make in prison reform, etc. Now you can (and many will) argue as to exactly where the credit goes for those things, and that is fair. But they are truths regardless.

i make a living in large due to the stock market. If joe looks this bad and it doesn't move it means nobody cares I or it's prefers Trump. However the top ten companies of the past few years are secular. They don't depend on the government, they have huge cash flows, they can locate anywhere, and I doubt Biden's could sit down with any of the CEO of such corporations for an intelligent conversation or name one with out a card and head shot.

I would bet you dont even know who Jensen Huang js.  Meanwhile unemployment is creeping up. The market likes it because it means interest rates may come down.

the market depends on corporate profits and nice multiples driven by secular growth. Joe isn't driving any of that. If he steps aside we might go faster. Ai is going to need modularity nuckear power stations to produce the power to make any of this happen.

Glad you remember it. A lot of media kerfuffle and nothing more.  For the average American, they were good years. Low inflation, low unemployment (especially for minorities) etc.  Nobody will remember the political scandals or what world leaders thought when they vote this year. They will remember the two dollar gas and the 3% mortgage and want them back.

It was a polite democratic process at work. All those who want him replaced had kind words for Joe that he is a good man and they appreciate his lifetime of service. Most top leaders like Vice President Harris, House minority speaker Hakim, Jamie Raskin, Don Beyer reaffirmed support for Biden. It is totally up to Joe and he is not bitterly attacking those who call for him to step down. No insulting nicknames and dog whistles to his supporters to go after his detractors. He has a loving family that stand behind his decision. The party will close ranks behind Joe if indeed he is endorsed at the convention in August.

covid bankrupted  most small businesses in small towns. These towns haven't come back. The tragedy of this isn't small. Covid will be a consequence we pay for into the future. On the bright side our motel 6 is full of illegals with debit cards.

Sorry Joe was an authoritarian and violated the oath he took at the office. So did Trump. Why do i care? Because under Biden it became a little too much like Singapore.

Ah the old chestnut again that Joe ignored immigration laws and opened the borders and he snubbed Supreme Court and decide to forgive student loan debts; therefore he is cast as an authoritarian. Really a feeble gaslighting attempt by Maga. The border is a problem for decades and need Congress to jointly find solutions but can't because of the toxic nature of the House. There are skepticism about the Supreme Court move whether that was legal and the cuts limited to specific categories separate from the SC decision. If comparing Singapore law and order society, guess that is a complement to Joe.

Trump must be stopped, or locked up.

The main dilemma is the obvious replacement should be Kamala (can take the campaign donations and she is VP after all) but we have seen how little appetite America has for a woman POTUS never mind a black woman (Americans do love old, white men after all). The racists and misogynists would be out in droves, which could cement a Trump presidency unless women and minorities come out in equal if not greater droves.

And if they choose anyone else then there will be chaos at the party convention as black voters will be mightily pi$$ed off with the Dems if Kamala doesn’t get the nomination. This alone would then hand Trump the presidency.

So in summary, I think they’ll stick with Biden and keep their fingers crossed it’ll be enough.
