Pattaya Arrest: Thai Woman Accused of Drugging, Robbing Tourist

In a dramatic series of events, Pattaya police have apprehended a Thai woman linked to a disturbing crime involving a foreign tourist. The incident, unfolding in the bustling tourist city, stemmed from initial reports filed on June 20th at the Huai Khwang Police Station, Bangkok, where the tourist alleged he was drugged and robbed.

 

The victim, whose personal details remain confidential for security purposes, accused the woman — identified as 33-year-old Kittiyakorn — of pilfering high-value items including a Rolex watch, a 430,000-baht gold chain, and several pieces of luxury clothing.

 

The total estimated value of the stolen goods surpasses half a million baht. The duo reportedly met on a social media platform, leading to an in-person encounter at the tourist’s hotel in the Huai Khwang district of Bangkok.

 

According to the tourist's account, the evening turned nefarious after he felt unusually dizzy and subsequently lost consciousness, suggesting possible drugging. Upon regaining his senses, he discovered his valuables were missing, and Kittiyakorn had vanished.

 

Authorities launched a thorough investigation which culminated in Kittiyakorn’s arrest at her residence in Pattaya. During the arrest, officers retrieved a Rolex watch matching the description of the stolen item.

 

Further background checks revealed that Kittiyakorn was no stranger to law enforcement, with previous theft allegations and outstanding warrants to her name.

 

Kittiyakorn, currently detained, faces severe charges under nighttime theft. The case has sparked discussions about safety precautions for tourists and the importance of vigilance while engaging with strangers in foreign territories.

Or at least a freelancer who works the same venues every night. If they know you can find them, the chances of theft go dramatically down. As for this incident though, it sounds like his version of the story isn't exactly how it happened. It's unlikely she targetted him from a dating app and brought date-rape drugs with her. More likely they took "regular" drugs together - probably ones which he provided, he passed out, and she seized the opportunity to grab what she could and run.

 

Reminds me of some street hooker I used to know- a customer refused to pay her after sex, so she grabbed a gold necklace when he fell asleep. Incredibly dumb move because the guy showed up at the street bar she always worked at the next night. I've had small things and cash go "missing" with girls too, but with small amounts and no actual proof they took it no point going to police. And I'm not even talking about (only) hookers - also supposedly "normal" girls - there was a dancer who worked at a club I attended, she was all over me saying she wants me to be her boyfriend blah blah, and eventually came home with me. The first couple of times while she still worked at the club things were fine - she did not ask for money nor take anything. She quit the club shortly after and messaged me to meet, which we did. During that time she asked for 2000 for some random excuse, which I gave her, leaving 4000 baht in my pocket (I felt it there as I handed her the cash). I then went to the bathroom and a few minutes later she left. When checking my pocket the 4000 were gone, she saw the opportunity and just grabbed it from my pocket before leaving. I guess she felt safe because she knew I'd have trouble finding her now that she no longer works in that club. She was correct- I've never seen her since, although funny enough her Facebook profile did show up as we have mutual friends. Never bothered with it though - her loss - she could've milked me for a lot more than that for a lot longer if she didn't pull that stunt.

Hopefully the courts will take her recent and previous crimes more seriously, as she seems to think change in lifestyle is not a priority to keep her freedom to rob people.

One story mentioned them knowing each other for 4 years.  All of us would start dropping our guard by then.

 

Temptation of expensive items finally got the best of her again.  You display expensive items and you are inviting attention from others, some may think the gold looks better on them.

When I first met my wife to be she insisted that I buy a gold necklace with a Buddhist amulet to wear it was 4 baht gold. Over the years I refuse to wear it and it's been in our safe for the past 15 years. At the time I bought it gold was 7,000 baht so it's been a good investment if I ever decide to sell it.

Don't know about that..... I have always put the freelancers, particularly those that wander say the Beach Rd, as higher risk.

The scam was simple -- the women allegedly laced their lips and breasts with strong sedatives and then robbed their clients when the drugs took effect.

I'm talking about freelancers who work in nightclubs and bars and return to the same venues often. The street walkers are always a risk, in any country.
