There are no laws anywhere in the world that state you have to be polite or nice to anyone.

Correct me if I'm wrong but swearing in public in and of itself is not a crime.

Only if coupled with the threat of violence can it then be construed as assault/battery, which is a crime.

That guy was rude.

So what?

rude people are everywhere.

Thais are also very rude.

I have had a hell of a lot worse shouted at/done to me by locals over the years..

I think this is just another case of farang shaming and the fact that the woman sent her recorded clip to news agencies just goes to show how petty they really are.

bob.

You wouldn’t be Bob from Blackadder would you?

Hehe... try blocking the door when someone is trying to get in on the subway in new york and see what happens. No matter how you look at it. A fight or worse will ensue for sure.

She instigated his anger by refusing to move when he attempted to board. His reply, although it was with a bad word, seems appropriate. Although, he was not very smart about saying she did not understand English even after she acknowledged comprehension in what he said.

People are selfish and uncaring. If speaking to a Thai making a request. They and most likely she, ignored him thinking he would stop trying, until he used foul language. Sometimes they only understand the bad word before they show comprehension that you exist.

Seems a very odd incident.....the train doesn't look crowded....and she doesn't look particularly big.....did she actively try to block him and, if so, why would she do such a thing? Strange.

He's obviously not a people person, BUT, the train doesn't look crowded at all.   Just get the F out of the way when people are trying to board.

Why we don't visit Bangkok much any more, and don't use public trans during rush hour.   Choose your hotel/living location wisely, make sure you have what you need nearby.   Any extra cost is worth not having transport hassles.

In a somewhat related topic my thing is when elevator doors open and people are standing on the outside and expecting to get into the elevator before people exit.

That is a red rag.....I just stand there if i am waiting to get off until they move, but some will just push passed regardless.
