Pregnant Woman and Husband Narrowly Escape After Car Plunges Into Pond

A heavily pregnant woman and her Chinese husband had a close call on September 9, when their car plunged into a pond after she accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake. Both managed to escape safely from the submerged vehicle. The incident occurred in the Wang Takhian sub-district of Kabin Buri, Prachinburi province, when a 30-year-old woman, eight months pregnant, was driving with her husband. They were attempting to turn the car around when she mistakenly pressed the accelerator, causing the car to speed into a nearby pond. The pond, covering an area of over 3 rai (about 1.2 acres) and with a depth of 4 metres, quickly engulfed the vehicle. The couple managed to swim to safety and walked approximately 400 metres to seek help from a nearby roadside vendor. Rescue services were immediately contacted and arrived on the scene to assist. The pregnant woman, identified as Ms. Wannarat (surname withheld), and her husband were transported to Kabin Buri Hospital. Ms. Wannarat was admitted to the emergency room for a thorough check-up to ensure the safety of both mother and unborn child. According to a local vendor, Thaworn Kumchan, who was the first to assist the couple, the woman explained that they had been searching for a rental house and decided to turn around for another route. However, as she made the turn, she accidentally pressed the accelerator, causing the car to plunge into the water. Rescue divers were dispatched to retrieve the vehicle, which was submerged at a depth of 4 metres. They successfully pulled the car, a yellow MG sedan, from the water. The front of the car had sustained significant damage. Authorities believe the woman likely shifted gears incorrectly and pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, leading to the accident. Fortunately, her quick thinking to instruct her husband to open the car door allowed them to escape before the vehicle fully sank. Ha, 5 bucks, that's how much you find on the floor. My 19yo daughter works part time, while at uni, she gets 22 bucks an hour. You're a shift working adult, I reckon 40 or 50 an hour. Then you have your superannuation, that's another 10% plus growth. I'm with cbus, it's earning me minimum 10% pa. You're loaded Georgie, stop trying to make me sad, come back to Pattaya soon mate. -

Well actually........I am not an accountant & basically a "bob in the village" & it was very easy & profitable to file in my case. Because back in 2012-2016 the savings interest rates in Thailand were good ...especially in 2013 That aside the reason to file was claim back the taxes they took from the savings when ever it went over 30k baht a year. But foreigners could claim it all back as we are not Thai citizens But yes we filed taxes claims/returns in those years very easily. They actually did most of the work themselves at the counter. I guess the getting of the Tax ID# was probably harder than actually filing. But even getting the number was a matter of an hour once sent to the right office. Once interest rates dropped we stopped yearly filing no problem. -

Some of the dogs were also seen with plastic bottles hanging around their necks. Local residents speculate that the muzzling was due to the dogs’ loud barking and aggressive behavior toward tourists. The images posted online sparked criticism, with many condemning the act as animal cruelty. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the dogs had indeed been walking and lying along the streets with their mouths taped shut. The security guards in the area stated that although these dogs are usually looked after by someone, they remain muzzled day and night, with the tape only removed when someone comes to feed them. The incident has raised concerns among the local community, prompting calls for officials to investigate whether this act violates the *Prevention of Cruelty and Animal Welfare Act 2014 This law protects animals from abuse and neglect, and violators can face up to two years in prison, a fine of up to 40,000 baht, or both. Van Driver Loses Control, Crashes Into Electric Pole and Overturns
Picture from responders. A passenger driver van lost control, on September 9, crashing into an electric pole and overturning in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Nine passengers were injured in what being considered a lucky escape that there were no fatalities. Rescue teams responded swiftly to free the injured from the wreckage and transport them to the hospital. The crash occurred on the Nakhon-Hua Sai Road in the Suan Luang subdistrict of Chaloem Phra Kiat district. Pol. Lt. Col. Ekchak Mukda, an investigator with Chaloem Phra Kiat Police, received the report and coordinated with rescue teams from the Tai Tek Tung and Pracharuamjai Foundations, along with medical personnel from Chaloem Phra Kiat Hospital, to provide assistance. Upon arrival at the scene, the rescue teams found a severely damaged white Toyota van lying overturned in the median of the four-lane road. Nine individuals, including the driver, were trapped inside. Rescue workers quickly worked to free the injured passengers, give immediate first aid before being rushed to Chaloem Phra Kiat Hospital. The van had also struck and toppled several electric poles. Preliminary investigations revealed that the van, driven by Mr. Prasit, was traveling from Hua Sai district to Nakhon Si Thammarat city. The driver of the vehicle reportedly lost control before crashing into the electric poles before overturning into the median. Authorities believe the accident was caused by driver fatigue, possibly due to the driver falling asleep at the wheel. Chinese Factory Manager Falls to His Death After Silo Explosion, Three Others Injured

In an industrial accident, on September 9, at a rubberwood processing plant in Chaiya District, Surat Thani, one person was killed and three others injured following an explosion in a storage silo. The incident occurred at the Promphat Rubberwood Factory in Moo 6, Mo Thai Subdistrict, where a manager tragically lost his life. The deceased has been identified as Mr. Zhang Xuanjun, 46, a Chinese national and the factory manager. The injured include Mr. Banchob Kwanprao, 51, a Thai national; Mr. Yen Chailing, 55, also from China; and Mr. Angnai, 26, a Myanmar national. All three were rushed to Surat Thani Hospital for treatment. According to initial reports, the explosion occurred inside the silo, which is used for storing rubberwood sawdust. The blast is believed to have caused the fatal fall of Mr. Zhang, throwing him from the area he was working and led to severe injuries to the others present in the area at the time. Rescue teams from Kuson Sattha Chaiya Foundation responded swiftly, and the deceased was transported to Surat Thani Hospital for autopsy. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the explosion.
