What a farce thai politics is hopefully the rest of the world will complain but with what's going on in the rest of the world i doubt it  the eletes don't care what the small folks think

Those elites do that everywhere, it is also the multinatials who call the shots, not surprisingly because they are part of the elites again.

I don't! Not one bit!........You're easily insulted if that's all it takes, just imagine if it WAS insulting! 🙄

What has happened previous to almost every coup here? People have taken to the streets. This is a historical fact. This is why I find the comment "There's rice in the bowl, all's ok!" an insult to the Thai people. Not only this but it's a puerile, uneducated comment. What will happen is yet to play out. Here are some scenarios. Students will take to the streets and this will peter out. Students will take to the streets and mass protests will follow. This will trigger a coup. Nothing will happen now instead people will wait for the next election where the dinosaurs will be profoundly punished, or nothing will happen at all due to complacency.

The democratically elected government-in-waiting is disbanded for wanting to talk about bringing the country into the 21st Century? Thailand is a monarchist/fascist dictatorship. Will it ever  become s democratic state?

PTP will bag a fair amount of them.

You think they are that short of memory? Because PTP was the party that short-changed them, and was the reason they were not allowed to form the government.

Paris 1789, Moscow 1917, Vietnam 1945, 54 and 75 come to mind as inspirations for the Thai people (but how much history of the outside world are they allowed to know?)

Is that a serious question? Thais... learning world history?! 🤣🤣🤣

I honestly came home from work one day to find the wife sitting in front of the History Channel crying her eyes out. She's an intelligent girl, but what she learnt after she left Thailand astounded her. Not only about world history, but real Thai history too.

The general population are oblivious.

The troughs are full and the pigs are happy!

The pigs troughs have always had a steady flow, and kept full to overflowing with lots of 'purchases' for the boys, so nothing new there

Not quite,

As Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin continues visits - local and abroad - to try to solve problems and promote Thailand, he has not been able to impress most voters, according to a survey by a Nida poll that also showed the declining popularity of Pheu Thai Party leader Paetongtarn Shinawatra - and the further rise of Move Forward.

The poll released on Sunday showed only 12.85% of voters supported the prime minister, a drop from 17.75% in the previous survey. The daughter of convicted former prime minister Thaksin, who is on parole, saw her popularity decrease to 4.85% from 6%.

An excellent article.

A DARK DAY FOR THAILAND AFTER COURT DISSOLVED MOVE FORWARD PARTY

In the end, the Constitutional Court today acted out of fear, citing eventual concerns that the monarchy institution will be eventually abolished if the main opposition Move Forward was allowed to continue to exist and charismatic former leader Pita Limjaroenrat allowed to hold political office.

Thus the party was dissolved and Pita along with about ten others, including current party leader Chaithawat Tulathon were banned from from political office for 10 years.

This leads to the question as to whether Thailand can still call itself a democracy when disenfranchising 14 million voters, or the biggest winner in the May 2014 general election, means little or nothing as long as voters want to see the monarchy institution reformed instead of being treated like a semi-divine institution from the Middle Ages in Europe.

Perhaps this outcome which was no surprise, should be covered and broadcasted more and more throughout the Democratic world to create some sort of concern and pressure on the Goons here, the citizens will just carry on smiling as usual...........

bob.

Bob! Have you not figured out yet what life is worth here? I do not think anyone can be scared to die when they are Thai since life is taken at the drop of a hat and even compensation is less if you die than if critically injured. Death is preferable to those willing to kill.

Wrong again. They're going to a party they had set in the wings for this very occurrence of disbandment and political, pseudo legal assassination. If there's not a coup before the next election the dinosaurs will be wiped out.

Not wrong, I was replying to your post about PTP being in the cross hairs, not about where MF will move its MPs to, that's already a done deal.

Anutin/BJT can only profit from the current situation.

Thailand is a Kleptocracy.

In a kleptocracy, corrupt politicians enrich themselves secretly outside the rule of law, through kickbacks, bribes, and special favors from lobbyists and corporations, or they simply direct state funds to themselves and their associates. Also, kleptocrats often export much of their profits to foreign nations in anticipation of losing power.[6]

Kleptocracy  describes Thailand Political system precisely

A sad day for 14million Thai voters.

Any company thinking to invest in Thailand or has invested will surely think again.

Keep a close eye on the Thai baht value

Companies don’t worry about who is in control as long as they have the right  environment for trade that’s what capitalism is all about.

In any event many are already locating to Vietnam as it is a lower cost base.
