Thailand’s Business Ease Ranking Plummets in Asia-Pacific: Survey
The thai leaders probably think it means that they should try to increase the value of he baht since there will be fewer buyers and they need to therefore increase the price and value of the baht to make more money - typical thai business thinking. Just like the foremer RM and current pm trying to get the head of the bank to lower the interest rate but he feels it makes the baht stronger to keep the same interest rate while other govts are lowering theirs. Just because itis causing business losses due to that interest rate, he doesn't care. -

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
Oh dear, what a shame. All the apologists and Putin supporters need yet another narrative now...... As Russia's GDP and inflation figures move in the wrong direction, the worst-case scenario for any economy looms large over Moscow. Russia's economy is signaling a fate worse than recession "There are signs of cooling domestic demand. However, there is no reduction in inflationary pressure," Russia's central bank cited in a summary of its latest policy meeting, translated by Bloomberg. The unfortunate pairing, more often known as stagflation, is something policymakers prefer to avoid at all costs. It's a scenario harder to thwart than a recession: when an economy slows down, central banks will loosen interest rates to revive activity. But if inflation keeps rising at the same time as a downturn, things quickly become complicated. Since interest rates must stay high to cool price growth, governments are left paralyzed. https://archive.ph/ifMjH https://www.businessinsider.com/russia-economy-outlook-stagflation-recession-inflation-gdp-growth-ukraine-war-2024-9 -

Volunteer Non-Immigrant O Visas
So there is no specific income ceiling so 50,000baht per month income can be on a volunteer visa? I would have thought it would have to be a working visa at such income levels. -

Thai tax riddle: Elite Visa holders off the hook?
According to an article about three weeks ago, Thai tax lawyers stated it was against the constitution to access foreign accounts, and that to change this law would take years. I guess that is in place so all the rich people can salt their wealth abroad with impunity. -

16 yr old Thai registering business?
My Thai son setup his online business last year which is based on giving online services to Thais. He does it as his after school and weekend job while in high school, and plans to continue it through university. It's going quite well and earns him around 80,000 Baht per month, paid daily after he completes the service for his customers, which is transferred to his Thai bank account that we setup for him when he was a young child. He has a facebook page, Line page and webpage for the business. None of this is registered, which I think it should be. What is the minimum age for a Thai to register their own business, get a business bank account, and pay tax on, so everything is legal and above board? https://www.deel.com/blog/how-to-register-a-sole-proprietorship-kicchkaarecchaakh-ngkhnediiyw-in-thailand/ Sole proprietorship may be the easiest, but there's no information on minimum age. Has anyone had a family member here register one? -
