Crane Collapse in Thonburi Injures Motorcyclist, Suspected Cause Ground Subsidence
Picture from responders. A construction crane toppled over on September 12, near a subway construction site in Thonburi, injuring a motorcyclist passing through the area. The incident occurred at the entrance of Soi Taksin 9/3 on Somdet Phra Chao Taksin Road in the Samre Subdistrict of Thonburi District, Bangkok, close to Samitivej Thonburi Hospital. The injured individual has been identified as Mr. Pitsanu, a motorcyclist who was riding through the area at the time of the collapse. He sustained injuries including a fractured right leg and a wound on his left shoulder. Rescue teams promptly transferred him to Samitivej Thonburi Hospital for immediate treatment. Eyewitness Mr. Uthen, who was also riding his motorcycle near the scene, reported seeing the crane in operation before it began to sway. Moments later, the crane toppled over, crushing the motorbike beneath it. According to Mr. Uthen, the crane's collapse appeared sudden, and he recalled hearing a loud noise just before it fell onto the motorcyclist. Upon inspection of the area, it was noted that the ground near the construction site showed signs of subsidence, with a noticeable depression where the crane had been stationed. This has led authorities to suspect that ground instability may have caused the collapse. Following the incident, Pol. Lt. Natthapong Khanarat, an investigative officer from Bukkhalo Police Station, arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Authorities dismantled the damaged crane and cleared the area to prevent further accidents. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the ground subsidence and whether there were any violations of safety regulations during the crane's operation. -- 2024-09-13 Get the ASEAN NOW daily NEWSLETTER - Click HERE to subscribe -

Trump Harris: Who won the debate ?
Can you understand the concept that Trump lied a lot more than Kamala Harris? Or are you opposed to fact checking in general? Do you think it's okay for candidates to lie without correction? -

HowTo: How to Explain Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation to a Precocious 10-year-old?
For a start, the universe is finite. Everything composed of matter ends, eventually. That must be a very strange 10 year old to even be serious about it, and perhaps they are not serious about it, just curious. IMO any attempt to explain it will be too complicated for a 10 year old. Try diversion. -

hi,may i renew my 2 years thai driving licence with 60 days visa exemption.thank
Why not get a proper visa and remove doubt? IMO one has to be a resident, not just a tourist, as a tourist can drive on a home licence with an IDP. I may be wrong of course. -

Helicopter Rescue for Elderly Flood Victims in Mae Sai
Pictures and video courtesy of DDPM. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), on September 12, deployed a helicopter to rescue three elderly individuals, including one bedridden patient, who were trapped in their single-story home in Mae Sai district, Chiang Rai. Ms. Traisulee Traisoranakul, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, provided an update following a meeting with local officials from the flood-affected provinces of Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai. Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has been closely monitoring relief efforts for affected residents. Ms. Traisulee addressed recent social media criticism regarding the non-deployment of the KA-32 disaster relief helicopter during thunderstorms. She clarified that the DDPM follows strict safety protocols, and the helicopter was launched as soon as weather conditions permitted. Today, after evaluating safe weather conditions, the DDPM, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Army, deployed the KA-32 helicopter. The DDPM's rescue team, "The Guardian Team," successfully carried out a mission to assist the three elderly residents, with all three being winched up to the helicopter before being transferred to safety. Additionally, the team delivered food and water to 140 teachers and students at Samakkhi Pattana School in the Mong Kao Lang area, Mae Fah Luang district, where landslides had blocked roads and caused power outages, cutting off water and phone services. Video of the rescue below. -- 2024-09-13 Get the ASEAN NOW daily NEWSLETTER - Click HERE to subscribe RPReplay_Final1726142177.mp4 -

Trump Harris: Who won the debate ?
That would only apply had Trump been thumped. It was like being savaged by a small and very annoying puppy. Had Trump actually been thumped I'd have watched it instead of just listening while doing something more useful, like cleaning my wardrobe. -

It was a decent answer to your rambling out of the blue. There is a line of answers before you educating me about Koh meaning Islands. So I prefer Islands over Hua Hin. Hua Hin suits old men and couples. -
