EXPAT TAXATION - Does anyone really know what's going on?
When news of this policy broke, many, including myself, gave a thought to how they would enforce this policy. Many members posted things like, "I can't see them chasing foreigners all over the country." I, and some other members, post that they MAY require a document from the TRD at extension time, thus, no chasing, as it brings the foreigner to them, where "something" may have to be paid. I have also put forward that just like there is an overstay desk at boarders, there may be a TRD desk, where you will have to pay "something" to be able to leave. Once again, no chasing, they can just sit back and wait for the foreigners to come to them. No one knows at this stage, but why chase the sheep when you can make the sheep come to you? It's such an obvious and simple solution for Thai authorities that I would find it hard to believe they haven't considered it and / or will implement it. -

"One day" is not correct. During the 2 years you can leave several times and for several weeks. But note: If your OAP has been approved and you have been receiving fortnightly OAP payments then these payment stop for the time you are outside of Oz. Centrelink / Service Australia have a 24/7 online link to the details of all Australian exiting and entering Oz, all computerized and that how they gain the info to quickly stop / start OAP payments during the 2 years. -

Delivery of fake order
I had one of those... a number of years back. Ordered an SMP Saddle for my bike (about 6000 baht or something like that), a rubbishy phone case arrived. I went through the complains / returns process highlighting the scam to Lazada, I initiated a return with a complaint and my money was returned. -

Not salary, but foreign-sourced income such as dividends and capital gains. I suppose these are not classified as "earnings," as I erroneously wrote, but passive income. The 100,000 euro flat tax in Italy or Greece becomes cheaper than the progressive Thai tax when one has around 12 million baht yearly income. For those not willing to cough up 100k every year, there are many discount countries, such as Monaco, with no income tax at all. -

Delivery of fake order
Or just have a rule - No CoD orders, simple !!... As pointed out earlier, this is an individual choice - But I personally find CoD incredibly invonvenient. My Wife and I are going to go through the extra steps of telling each other what we have ordered... We just know that any delivery guy who turns up asking for CoD is a scam. Additionally, we live inside a MooBaan and are rarely in all day, so we don't have to make sure we are there to pay the CoD... We can just ask the Delivery guy to leave the package on our doorstep. Hassle free, no messing around waiting for delivery or reorganising delivery for the next day when we may not be in again... -

Sure, but money in a Thai bank, earning interest, could meet the criteria of being an "investor." So, whilst prohibited from working, the hold of a retirement visa is still earning money in Thailand, no matter how big, or how small. Like I said, go to a different office, at a different time, with a different member of staff, and you may get a different result. -

Abc’s Muir needs to make a public apology
If moderators have the same authority as referees in a boxing match, then I agree David Muir owes the public an apology for allowing that disaster to continue long after the male on that stage showed clear evidence of brain damage. Looking at Muir's face when he was correcting the abject absurdity of 'they're eating the pets', it was clear Muir was deeply embarrassed for the person who had made that silly claim. Pity was the look. Pity that America had to see a man so unhinged and broken. -

I learned already that it's the classifier for stamps. My question was: I can't remember another pattern "Do you want noun+classifier?" with this meaning. It sounds familiar, though.
