Can you defend yourself?

Sure, if possible. There are sometimes when there is no out, more than to face up to the assumed danger. When such day appear, there are some thing to think about.

First, training and martial arts can off course help. I have been training all from karate to Brazilian jiujitsu as well as regular street fighting techniques. Sure, knowing such will always give an advantage. However, also a disadvantage for many, as they see themselves as superior to others. That is usually the ones seeking trouble and fights. The two most important things to know is:

Always look at an aggressive person as a danger. Actually, being a little bit scared also gives an advantage.

Always anticipate, and use your opponents weight and size against him. Actually something all martials arts sports have as a foundation.

I would back an experienced street fighter against a martial arts specialist nine times out of ten. Unlike martial arts there are no rules in street fighting.

Nice to know you are a violent person who this hitting someone just because they pushed in front of you is an acceptable reaction.

Only cowards use weapons, and a knuckle duster is a weapon.

There's a lot of fantasy going on with most posters on this thread!   So many hardmen about.

Just like those dozens of SAS operatives I've met over the years next to me on bar stools....

Reckon we should take our pick...   I'm going with #3 !!!!!

1. Liverpool, England (The original)

Home of the world's most overrated boy band, scallies and an overrated football team.

2. Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia

The place that thinks it's Sydney, but nobody told Sydney!

3. Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Canada

Where even the moose are bored and anally retentive!

4. Liverpool, Texas, USA

It’s not even the most famous Liverpool, let alone the most famous Texas!

5. Liverpool, New York, USA

The part of New York that no one cares to visit!

6. Liverpool, Illinois, USA

Where the biggest attraction is… leaving!

7. Liverpool, Uruguay

The only Liverpool that’s as forgettable as a Uruguay football club!

8. Liverpool, West Virginia, USA

Insult: West Virginia’s best-kept secret... because no one cares enough to look!

9. Liverpool, Ohio, USA

Famous for… well, absolutely nothing!

10. Liverpool, Pennsylvania, USA

Where the most exciting thing is the town sign!

You could be right.   On the other hand...

Avoid conflict as far as you can. If it becomes obvious you cant calm the situation then strike first, strike fast and strike hard.

But to answer the question probably yes. You can always get an unlucky punch but in general yes I can look after myself.

He said"you have problem bro?

I said yes I do you stupid C

They both walked off

Then I stood my ground

I was prepared to fight because my anger was up at that time

Would I have regretted it ?

Thinking raw, that will be the best choice in 7-8 out of 10, so you got a good chance already there. However, one should never forget to calculate with the environment and human behavior. Also about 7-8 times out of 10 the aggressor will be fueled by alcohol. If that also is combined with a furious stage the chance for the aggressor will fade against a concentrated and calm regular fit person with minimal fighting knowledge.

Also size, seems to be something to show off with and the bigger the anabolic fed monster is, the more will the environment be in the way. A big person against a smaller in a place with limited room, might also lose advantage. There are so many factors to take into calculation when deciding to fight or run, and everything has to be done in a couple of seconds.

And then you woke up and realized it was all just a dream

not at all...the following day I flew to SEA - began flying daily against commies.  But after that, the only fighting I have done is in an actual war - outside of that I avoid getting into those type of situations as like I said earlier one could accidently maim or kill someone without realizing it should only be defensive!

Keep your hands in your pocket with a key between your fingers.  When they come to attack you, jab their eyeball with the key.

Sure, if you are into life changing sucker punches. No doubt you will fix yourself a good amount of jail time. That will never be called self defense. It´s more like premeditated action of a coward.

What's your point, are you one of those guys living in Nakhon Nowhere, without friends, only have an annoying wife as company?

Work and live in Bangkok, with enough friends. My wife works and is nice (most of the times)

I trained and taught martial  arts when i was young.

Never had to use it in a fight and to be honest i was always scared to get into a fight.

In training i never cared if i got hurt or not but i did walk away on purpose a few times when i knew i would get into a fight if i stayed around.

Eighty % of martial arts is having enough air to finish the job.

I could still fight now,for about twenty seconds then i would be out of gas.

I'm not buying your story but if it makes you feel tough you go with that
