Popular Post smedly Posted September 14, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2024 just got contacted by J&T Express saying they had a COD delivery for me from lazada, apart from the fact I hadn't ordered anything I checked the order number and it was bogus, I obviously refused the delivery, it was small box that appeared to be empty if I had to guess, the address was correct etc. Not sure if this is the courier trying it on or what, just a heads up for anyone else who gets a delivery of a package they didn't order 1 3

It is a good reason to check that it really IS a correct order before you sign and pay. I made a small spreadsheet detailing what I order and from whom online. If the order does not appear there and it is in my name it will be refused. Simple and easy to do. 1 1 3
Popular Post richard_smith237 Posted September 14, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2024 Yup.. Its a scam that has been around for a while now. Numerous threads about it... including the one I started below, a few people were sceptical that it was really a scam, but since then a load of others have also reported the same attempts. Easy avoided simply by never doing Cash on Delivery (for any order). 1 2

Or do not pay Cash for anything which you did not order. I recently made an order for about Bht 9k paying with Debit Card, then I cancelled it. The amount is showing as a Pending transaction on my card statement, and Lazada are 'looking into it and say it could take up to two weeks. I would have been better paying CoD. 3

I did't order anything and the order number was a fake - no record of it on lazada, the label had all other details correct, address, name, phone etc, the delivery guy was very keen for me to reject it once he realised I wasn't an idiot 1

An individual preference of course... But we have no idea what the other has ordered from various platforms... we just know we never order CoD and that avoids the scam. 2

Some guys get tricked in paying COD when they haven't ordered anything, would never happen if you didn't order with COD. No need for a spreadsheet i just keep a note on colornote app but i appreciate most people slump themselves down in front of PCs rather than use a phone

You just refuse to accept anything which you did not order. That's easier if you live alone. If your family never orders anything COD, it's a no-brainer to decline a COD order. No risk of getting in trouble for declining your daughter's zit cream order before her big date. (Or your wife's, before her big date, but that's another issue) I did my first 2 or 3 Lazada orders COD when they were new and I had no history. Then I did hundreds of orders pre-paid by card. Never a payment issue.

mogandave Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 I don’t order anything COD, so if it comes COD, it’s not my order. 1

Swings and roundabouts, as we English say. Pay CoD and cancel, the money goes to your Lazada Wallet, cancel card payment, money goes back to your card 'within two weeks

Easy to write down what you and anyone in your home orders and what it costs. Kannika beat me to it with this. 1 1 1 1

I always pay with Line wallet for smaller purchases, Kasikorn credit card for more expensive orders. I've never received a fake order. You should always pay when ordering, you will save your time posting on AN forums regarding fake orders. 2

Age doesn't make you paranoid or stupid. Quite the opposite actually. 1
