Thai police shut down 21 villas on Koh Samui, foreigners evicted
I can think of many structures on steeper land but somehow they get approval. It seems often once somebody gets in for whatever reason and builds something they virtually never pull it down so there's an incentive to pay bribes and build before a higher authority finds out. Samui is just too high profile to get away with it so easily. Also the gradient is 30% I think. -

Robert Mueller Warns of Continued Russian Election Interference, US Remains Unprepared
yep, Unfortunately the members here are way too old and brainwashed to ever change their minds. funny how the Democrats have gone from anti war, free speech and tolerance, to pro war, totalitarian, censorship and persecution of political opponent’s without even realising. everything they accuse trump and his supporters of, they are doing right now!! -

Game over
Covid is an inflammatory disease. It's impact on anyone is determined in large part by their genetic structure and pre-existing health conditions. The evidence is showing that many patients had long term damage to their critical organs. Covid has not been with us for enough time to see its long term impact on the body. Like radiation, impact may take years to determine the outcome. -

Honest Question: How is Trump a 'threat to Democracy'?
The compact you refer to is unlikely to survival legal challenge. "The Supreme Court has also held that congressional consent is required for interstate compacts that alter the horizontal balance of power among the states." Since this arrangement appears to be a power grab by Democrat states, only if they are in full control of Congress could they get the required consent. One law professor has argued that Congress cannot consent to the NPVIC, because Congress has no power to alter the functioning of the Electoral College under Article I, Section VIII. The CRS report concluded that the NPVIC would likely become the source of considerable litigation, and it is likely that the Supreme Court will be involved in any resolution of the constitutional issues surrounding it. Given that the Supreme Court ist dominated by Republican appointed judges, it is highly unlikely they would sanction this compact. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact#:~:text=The National Popular Vote Interstate, and the District of Columbia. -

How does Hong Kong’s National Security Law compare to Thailand?
Take a look at this article. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0m0v99pd3vo I know there is the Lese Majeste Law in Thailand, and I would never want to do or say something to break that. And stuff about giving bad Google reviews. But does this conviction and sentence seem proportionate to those of you who understand Thai Law and how it’s applied? -

Story Of My Thai Citizenship Application
Well, me too. I would much rather prefer a book with historical data. I had one with 22yrs of stamps. When I went for renewing it in 2017, it was taken away and in lieu, an app was installed which only states that "xxx is permitted to work as yyy till zzz". It came as a shock. Luckily I had save scan copies of the booklet which I used in my citizenship application. I had with me for 22yrs and still miss that WP book. They could have simply stamped it as cancelled/void or whatever & returned it.
