Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants with sexual assault, murder convictions roaming US
You are aware that Fox News is a dishonest "news" outlet, aren't you? FN testified in a court of law that they do not employ fact-checkers, and their aim is to provide entertainment and not fact-based news. The purpose of FN is to fool people into voting for legislators who will benefit the wealthy. That is why Trump's only effective legislation was lower tax cuts for the wealthy. Do yourself a favour - move away from the lies FN puts out. -

Saved a Thai from being fined. Good or bad?
My view is that it is a nanny state law. Idiots deserve what they get. -

The appointed "border czar" Kamala Harris encourages these illegal immigrants by not enforcing the law. These illegals are all potential democrat voters and therefore nothing is being done to prevent them from entering the U.S.- 1

Fire Destroys Three Traditional Thai Houses in Nong Khai
I think much of the recent flooding was due to the Mekong overflowing and the fire site is about 3km from the river. -

Trump appeal against ridiculous fine looks like a winner
NEW YORK — via AP Updated: 3:17 PM EDT Sep 26, 2024 Some judges in a New York appeals court appeared receptive Thursday to possibly reversing or reducing a civil fraud judgment that stands to cost Donald Trump nearly $500 million. One judge called the former president’s penalty “troubling” and wondered if the state’s policing of private business transactions amounted to “deterrence” or “mission creep.” ... But Judge Peter H. Moulton questioned if James' office was engaging in “mission creep,” and whether the law she sued Trump under had "morphed into something that it was not meant to do.” Later, Moulton questioned Vale about Engoron's hefty punishment, observing that “the immense penalty in this case is troubling.” https://www.wbaltv.com/article/ny-appeals-court-hears-arguments-on-trump-civil-fraud-judgment/62390658 -

Your talking nonsense. Illegal immigrants didn't start with Biden\Harris regardless how hard you try to blame them. They have been crossing the borders for over 100 years under ever admin and party. Trump stopped bills that would have helped while in office although he like to talk bs with his border wall and separating families. The Republicans under this admin also wouldn't back changes in laws. You obviously didn't read the whole link you posted did you? -

1 in 3 Children Now Short-Sighted after Covid Lockdowns Study Reveals
You are referencing the wrong person I did not state that "everyone had to stay indoors for months on end" but do agree with that sentiment there was incessant pressure to "not go out" huge fear mongering as to killing granny if you did...they did close most outside places that people could go and exercise enjoy a few hours to relive stress from the constant fear mongering which I believe caused much more damage than anything else. Here to refresh the memory ( the world class tourist resort) Pattaya locked down. -

Major Storm Won't Hit Thailand Like in 2011, official confirms
They likely mismanaged it. However, considering that she was appointed in August, there was not much opportunity left to prevent the flooding, in particular as dams were already full (if I remember well). It was more about deciding which part of Thailand would be flooded. -

Walking it Off
I don't frequent this part of the forum much... But another medical situation brought me here and I thought I'd share what's worked for me. Walking it off, but it takes time - two years ago during my annual physical I tipped the scales at 135 kg... That was a "breaking point" for me, since I just clicked and said "there's no way I'm doing 140"... I started walking, a lot, skip the baht bus, moto taxi, etc. walk everywhere you can. I also do one (moderately sized) meal a day*, sometimes two, and I DID NOT stop drinking. With time my 135 has become 95 with a goal of 85. While these aren't the best "dramatic weight loss" results I can attest to those who want to begin that it is a method which works and you do not bounce up and down. *One problem I noticed is I would often see food I like and just eat it because it's delicious. Instead now I have a list of food I like and simply cross off an item until the list is complete and start over, this way I don't succumb to "fear of missing out" on a delicious meal. I'm sure this isn't shocking news, but to those who are wanting to follow it and have reservations about it being effective, I can assure you it is. -

EV charging outlets in condos
I've seen car sales from around the world for Q2 and YTD. Looks like EV sales are crumbling, but hybrids are growing like crazy. Maybe Toyota made the right call. Hybrids are not even new tech, the Prius is years old. My son had one in Miami and said it was fantastic. -
