How do you pay?
I use cash when I'm out and about (pubs, bars, 711 etc.) Banking app for condo fees, electricity bill, phone bill. Credit card for internet purchases. No way they can get rid of cash here. With the sex industry, corruption, tax evasion etc. there is no way the authorities would do it, since they benefit the most from the aforementioned things being off the radar. -

Promptpay at the bottle shop and builder's merchant (and to our building contractor). Truemoney at Lotus and Seven. Local credit card at Makro, Homepro etc. etc. Cash for the maid and gardener. -

Yacht Fire Near Ao Po Grand Marina, Phuket
Boat Explosion and Fire Off Phuket Coast: Flamingo Lady 2 Sinks, Damage Estimated at 4.3 Million Baht A boat, the Flamingo Lady 2, exploded and caught fire near Ao Por Grand Marina in Pa Khlok, Thalang District, Phuket, before sinking into the sea. The incident occurred shortly after the boat had returned from dropping off passengers, and the damage is initially estimated at 4.3 million baht. The boat, operated by Captain Jaroon, had departed from Ao Por Pier at 10:00, transporting 22 tourists to Koh Naka Yai. After safely dropping off the passengers, the boat continued its return journey with only two crew members onboard: the captain and a machinery operator. At approximately 10:35, between Koh Naka Yai and Koh Raet, the boat’s right engine malfunctioned, causing a loss of control over the engine’s speed. The overheated engine produced sparks that ignited fuel vapors, leading to an explosion and fire. Both the captain and the machinery operator attempted to extinguish the fire, but it quickly spread. Captain Jaroon suffered minor leg injuries and was transported to Thalang Hospital. Police Colonel Nikorn Chuthong from Thalang Police Station, along with other officers and several agencies, deployed a speedboat to inspect the site. However, the boat had already been engulfed in flames and was swept away by the wind before sinking into the sea, at a depth of approximately 3 to 4 metres. Officials plan to further assess the wreck once the tide recedes. The witness, Mr. Ali, 43, stated, “The boat was moving by itself, and the engine suddenly shut down. When the captain checked the engine, it exploded due to overheating. I rushed to help after the fire started but could only watch as the boat burned.” Further investigations into the cause of the explosion and assessment of the damage will continue. -- 2024-10-03 -

just to point out the bus was a CNG not LGV and the tank did not explode one of the tanks had a leak CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) LGV (liquefied Natural gas vehicle) In vehicle applications, the main advantage that LNG has over CNG is that it is more dense. For two tanks of the same size, the LNG tank will allow a vehicle to drive further than the CNG tank. which is Interesting.LNG, however, is more complicated to use, and is not widely available. LNG fueling stations require complex cryogenic equipment.LNG is also more hazardous than CNG. One safety concern results from the need for LNG vehicles to vent off fumes. LNG vehicles do not normally come with LNG cooling systems, so LNG tanks tend to gain heat. The heat gains cause some of the LNG to vaporize. Eventually, the vapors need to be vented to avoid excessive pressure build ups. This is why LNG vehicles should never be parked in interior garages unless special ventilation is installed. LNG, being very cold, can also cause freeze burn. Contact with LNG, LNG vapors and the uninsulated surfaces of LNG fuel system components should also be avoided, and drivers and mechanics need to be trained in LNG safety.
