Visa agencies in Thailand are stepping in to simplify the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) application process, helping applicants navigate the often complex bureaucracy of Thai embassies.

More strings attached to this than Thaksin and his daughter

That would suck to pay all that money and have a DTV application denied.

It's only the same as Thais trying to get visas to countries like the U.S. The application fee is non refundable for refusal.

Heavily marketed on social media platforms like Facebook, these packages range from 75,000 to 150,000 baht (£1,700 to £3,400), depending on the level of support, writes Barry Kenyon for Pattaya Mail.

What the boomboom? Paid about 400 Euros, back in 2014, to get an OA from Paris. Cost me less than a trip to Paris to get mugged. Didn't have time for that anyhow.

The DTV visa agencies will also register Tax Identification Numbers for all the new folks who will need to start paying tax on their worldwide income as tax residents of Thailand?

No need to, so you can relax

Meanwhile, I get to be treated like a common criminal when I go to renew my yearly visa.

I have to sit and wait while some young, intern type scrutinizes my bank books for 15 minutes making sure I didn't go one baht under the 400,000 for even a day.

They should be welcoming us with open arms-we who always play by the rules and bring lots of cash into the Thai system.  But no, all they want is a chance to trip you up and make a few baht in fines.

By tripping you up you mean doing their job.

The agencies just trying to take care of those stupids waking up every morning.

Helping them to feel "smart" is very honourable, isn't it?

TiT-style "social work" for foreigners.

The only problem is that there are not enough stupids waking up every day to cater to all those new agencies offering the "unique" service.

The same inflationary market extortion, like 33 weed shops and 77 Restaurants in every block.

A lot of the agent positive is dealing with as few Thai system people as possible. If the agent is passable pleasant you are only dealing with that one person (hopefully quickly and briefly).

I agree, a good agent is worth every baht.

It's playing a corrupt game, however. Is that who you are or want to become? It may seem like nothing but baby steps do effect you over time. 🤔

100,000 hike on a 10,000 visa hahahaha.   They can't even keep you IN Thailand to do it.

Those fees are WITHOUT air travel and hotel and taxi.

Go get them stupidzzz.

this is NOT an agent necessary visa.  You can even keep your funds in your own country bank.

Visa applications are unrefundable anywhere in the world when declined.

But which countries you are aware of the charge +2000 US$ for a visa application? And do you apply with a nongovernmental organization for those visas?

So you consider checking your papers are correct, classifies you as a criminal? How about in your home country, they never check your documents?
