I keep saying read the official labour laws the ministry has a web site if you can find try Thai law firms like Siam they have the law in regard to expats work permits

if you go on the web page of the ministry you will find the Thai definition of work The term “work” in Thai law is defined very broadly, covering both physical and mental activities, whether or not for wages or other form of compensation. Even volunteer or charity work requires a work permit in Thailand  i could not careless What you think i will not do your research for you ,  they is one thing i must point out you should not believe everything that is  posted in news articles  do your own research
