Thai Street Vendor Attacked by 20 Youths After Firework Warning

A street vendor selling grilled squid by the Mun River in Ubon Ratchathani was brutally attacked after warning a group of youths not to light fireworks near his vehicle due to safety concerns. The group retaliated by returning with nearly 20 friends, violently assaulting him and two others.

The incident was recorded on a mobile phone by a bystander, who then shared it on the Facebook page "Roi Rueng Mueang Roi Dan Ubon Ratchathani." The video shows a large group of youths attacking and wielding knives, resulting in three people being injured.

On October 14, Police Lieutenant Colonel Nikul Nusil of the Ubon Ratchathani City Police Station received a report from the victims, Mr. Nuntachai, Mr. Wayupak, and Mr. Sitthikon, all aged 30.

They reported being assaulted by the group on a riverside walkway in Nai Mueang, Ubon Ratchathani. The victims also provided the mobile phone footage as evidence.

Mr. Nuntachai, one of the injured and the squid vendor, recounted the incident, stating it occurred around 1:30 a.m. on October 14. He and his friends were eating by the river when a group of local youths began setting off fireworks nearby, nearly hitting his car and motorbike. He asked them to stop, and they initially left.

However, about 20 minutes later, the group returned in two pick-up trucks, with nearly 20 youths, who then attacked him, punching and slashing him with knives on his arms and back. His two friends were also injured in the attack.

Police have identified the suspects and will issue warrants for their arrest on charges of attempted murder and assault, reported Daily News.

This is exactly what is wrong with young people today. They totally lack respect and only see violence as a possible outcome. After that, they are huge cowards, that needs to be in big gangs to dare even opening their mouths.

Youths (guessing that means under 18).  1.30am on a school night.  Parents and parenting?

Violent video games (since at least the late 90s) are mostly to blame, along with media promoting UFC and violence in general. Plus kids are too sequestered indoors these days. Lockdowns did not help...

Time to thaw Charles Bronson and teach these punks a lesson.

Also possible they are quite ignorant about many things in life including safety. Why, because they didn't attend school very often and they missed most of the science (and other) important subjects).

And because they spend many hours every day looking at their smartphone screens continuously watching short tik toc dancing vids and cartoons.

School holidays

Spoiled brats and it's always the boys, the pride of the family.

No education, no discipline, no limits.

From their young years they can beat their caretaker grandmother if they don't get what they want.

Crying like a pig in the slaughterhouse.

I see that here on a regular basis.

Later they fall for drugs.

Parents leaving the house and living on the farmland to keep away from their speed fueled son. (two houses from here)

Yeah, or just wake up 50 000 responsible parents! Oh, sorry! That´s just not possible. Back to Bronson, ok 😉

2 years of forced army cleaning toilets

Better still, cleaning the sewers and the drains. A useful public service.

forced conscription is a must in a lunatic uneducated society like Thailand.

they really are the dimwits of the world.

Too far too dangerous.

Creating even bigger  threats  to the general public including their military itself.

Issuing a  lunatic  with self-loading(full-auto capability)  rifle, spare ammo, bayonet, grenades, Claymore Mine?

Criminals are known to be most unfit for armed services.

And that is WHY army, navy, airforce all over the world usually rejects such ones.

Because of their below-average stress resistance: Pretty fast to crack.

Also for their misplaced egos(highly self-centered).

That is why they commit a crime a lot easier than most  others in society.

No need to give them real guns, just give them a brush and a shovel, and set them to work on the golf courses like they already do.  The important thing is to get them away from their mothers / grandmothers and force some discipline into them

while you may be somewhat correct ....   I blame the parents.

The lack of proper parents and parenting in Thailand is extremely high in numbers.

If kids are bought up correctly, they respect & are disciplined.

They know right from wrong ....

Many barely know their parents, and the absence of a father is always a recipe for disaster.  Most kids here have little concept of right and wrong and what little they do have vanishes with the onset of adolescence, and rarely returns

they were too busy at the ATM for their cash handout then over to 7-11 for a dozen Lao Khao to join the next door neighbor drunks ...

Unarmed miliary training?

You mean Boot Camp?

Yeah, it might  work; sometimes used to correct the young offenders in the US.

I have seen some such footage in Yotube.

I'd prefer 2 years in jail for the punks, or an encounter with a power pole or a tree.
