Will marriage O visa holders need to use the Thai e-Visa website?

Featured Replies

For people with marriage visas (non-immigrant O visas) + multiple re-entry permits, will you have to fill out an online ETA or online arrival card during the coming months? Or can we just waltz into Thailand with just the visa sticker, visa extension stamp, and re-entry permit stamp as always?

For now, the ETA proposal has been delayed.  It was originally proposed only for those coming in "Visa Exempt," but ...

"... suspended on October 16 by the Cabinet at least until April 2025."

The article goes on to say, however ...

At some stage in 2025 the ETA system will be extended to include all foreigners entering Thailand, including all non-immigrant visa holders such as retirees.

They do not say where they obtained that information, and I hope it is unfounded, but this is the way the wind is blowing.   I learned of this article here:

You have a 1-year extension of stay, which is a permit, not a visa + a ME re-entry permit.
TM6 arrival cards were discontinued other than land border crossings.
The ETA is only required if entering without a visa (visa exempt) and not yet applicable.

I love to watch Ben Hart when I'm feeling down and need a good laugh.

Quoting the Pattaya Mail, which he referenced.  I watch several Thai related YT channels, and Mr Hart often quotes some interesting articles.
