Police from Nong Prue Station, along with rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Foundation, responded to reports of a newborn baby abandoned at house number 133/15, Moo 6, Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

The homeowner, Mrs. Saifon Khuras, 51, said she heard the cries of a baby early morning on October 24. Upon checking, she discovered a newborn baby girl lying face down outside her house, without any clothes and up against the wall of the premises. Mrs. Saifon quickly brought the baby inside and informed the authorities.

Her son also mentioned that he heard strange noises earlier at around 01:00, but he dismissed them, thinking they came from goats kept by nearby villagers. Police have  arranged for the baby to be transferred to Bang Lamung Hospital for care and have contacted Chonburi Child Welfare for long-term assistance.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the baby was abandoned and left on the roadside shortly after birth. Fortunately, she was discovered in time, preventing a potentially tragic outcome.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to collect evidence and identify the individual responsible for abandoning the child.

Picture and video from responders.

So I'm guessing they have a wall by the roadside. Poor little mite, seems to happen way to often here.

Very sad...  But I hope they are also looking for the mother who most certainly needs various forms of assistance and support.

Indeed, maybe another migrant worker without the support she needs.

Pattaya so I am tipping a hooker who has no idea which of her customers might be the dad.

Seems to be a new trend in Thailand, dumping newborn babies. Sad really.

Yes, the government has failed, I'm surprised there are not more reports of these abandoned newborns.

These young women in a relationship, having sex, all is going well, she and her partner make plans for the future......Sadly, only for the father to abandon her shortly after the birth of her baby.

In the west the government would provide social security and welfare payments (thousands of dollars after the birth), garnish the fathers wages, the woman may be on maternity leave, she has income but sadly in Thailand this poor young woman (girl) has no money to support herself and baby.

If the mother decides to keep her child without income she must leave her child with a guardian, go to work in the city but the minimum wage of around 12000 month is not enough to pay for accommodation, guardian, food, clothing, electricity, etc, now she finds herself working on Soi 6.

Shame on Thailand for not providing for these young mothers.

That's part of the answer.  Educating all Thai (grand)mothers to not raise their sons to be smug, superior, uncaring misogynists would also help.
