I can't believe the cost of seeing a Doctor here in Pattaya

One (farang) doctor I saw here ,I was in his room 3 minutes before he said have a blood test

Total cost 2400 baht ($110 Australian dollars)

I could of seen a (paid) $40  doctor in Australia 3 times for that price or a free Medicare doctor.

Remember you were castigating and complaining about those who prefer to use the bus Pattaya/Bangkok. Now you see why, they had had medical treatment here.  One day you will understand,,,,, maybe..😂

He said come back tommrrw for your results

I went back ,nothing wrong, he said but  then  checked my blood pressure

Your blood pressure is high but don't worry I can sell you Amlodipone at 800 baht for 30 caps

700 baht fee today they said on walking out to reception ,I was there 5 minutes plus your medication

I said forget the medication!!

I said I only came for the results you could of emailed me !

300 baht to email results they said

These doctors are charging Western rates

Not even a doctor in Australia charges $110 for 5 minutes (2400b)

I will stick with the free blood tests in Australia!!

You wouldn't want to be sick here

I'm going !!!

Stay away from hospitals. Go to a clinic. Much cheaper. What is wrong with you anyway? A farang doctor in Thailand? Where?

Long time no see Aussie doctor....???

$90 for short visit these days (5-10 minutes)

Get medicare refund maybe $35.

Blood test at another establishment add to that.

Betting you'd be forking out at least $250 to begin with.

Then you need another short doctor visit fee to get results.

Cheap Charlie....get insurance.

not experienced that, you should change your doctor

never been asked too do that in my 56 plus year history in Thailand. I can afford to go to a doctor that charges more than 100 baht

I recently had two nights in a government hospital with pneumonia, caused by a bacterial infection.

Round-the clock nursing care

4 bedside visits by doctors over 2 days,

At least three antibiotic IV’s, plus saline infusions

Sundry decongestant and anti-nausea meds.

An ECG and Chest X’ray,

Four blood tests, including troponin measurements.

Take-home pack of antibiotics and paracetamol.

All for a grand total of just under 7000 baht. I regard that as a screaming bargain.

A blood test at Mengrai Labs is usually 1000 baht.

Losartan for hypertension is about 200 baht for a month's supply.

A consultation with a cardiologist in Chiang Rai costs me 400 baht,

Perhaps the OP should be shopping around.

good deal...

I went in  with pnumonia as well... cost 42k a day !

I have attended the emergency department at Pattaya city hospital on soi Bukahao several times and was seen promptly and treated very professionally and amazed at the low cost.

The local government hospital still charges me 50 baht to see a doctor.

I've heard those government hospital wait times are around 4 hours.

That would suit Georgie boy, keep him off the streets, no time for peeping Tom 👀 and it would stop him annoying everyone.

It depends.

For non-emergency ailments, the wait times are as you say, and it is better to attend a clinic.

For emergency admissions, one is triaged, followed by diagnosis after testing.

In my case, I had an ECG and chest X'ray.

I  was in a hospital bed with an antibiotic IV in my arm about two hours after presenting.
