The elites, mostly Democrats, have made access to college education or the ivy leagues out of reach for the many of the deserving. You now pay your way up to graduction at Yale or Harvard, after paying your way at admission probably,  like some recent scandals showd with celebrities. One has to be really desperate to survive in such a harsh and ruthless society.

What is wrong for Federal government to fund education beyond high school? There are differing models, but I would think that in fact it benefits the economy in the longer term, rather than access being dictated by partisan politics which seems to me very narrow minded. . Some examples...

I agree it's the dem's dream. And why not? Imagine being able to have the education you want based purely on academic prowess and not just for those born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

 

Imagine the boost in the productivity and purchasing power through world leadership in technology and medicine. Imagine the jump in the standard of living for all.

 

Imagine being like most other developed countries. It doesn't have to be totally free but it doesn't have to be a usurer's dream either.

You are complaining about the very elites who back Trump. Since college educated people tend to vote Dem, the Republicans try to limit who can go to college via reducing public funding for tuition.
