It is now election day in the U.S.A.

One thing is constant in US presidential elections: early reports will announce heavy turnout. Even if the eventual numbers show average turnout.

The reason for these erroneous reports of heavy turnout is because of the great turnover in media, which means that a lot of reporters are seeing their first presidential election. They compare the lines with the lines for the earlier primary election (or the governor's election 2 years before) and the November lines look huge.

So expect early reports of huge turnout, but don't believe those reports.

Among the most consequential elections not only in U.S. history -- but in world history.
Fasten your seatbelts because there is a very good chance we won't know the winner of the election for days or even longer.

Then comes the second phase.

If Harris wins, Trump's army of lawyers and maga activists are locked and loaded to try to overturn the results, as he tried to do last time.

He's much more prepared for that now but on the other hand he's not currently in power.

The odds of violence at various election linked locations across the country are quite high.

How does this end? Don't know but now it has really started.

You are asking me, again, how this will end?

I think I already submitted an incisive and prescient Topic answering JUST this very question.

If you are asking me to repeat what I have already clearly stated, then:

The end of the world is nigh.

Meaning the Human World, of course.

Some bacteria and archaea may survive, but nothing more.

Yes, I fear that due to this election in 2024...

It will soon be only the extremophiles that shall inherit the wind, I mean the Earth....such as animals like this:

Therefore, Sir, you are entirely justified in instructing members here to, as you so aptly put it....

"fasten your seatbelts" ....

Good advice, for sure!!!!

And if Trump win do you think the left will try to stop him taking office?

Nothing would surprise me,  lets remember that many people have an  obsessive uncontrollable hatred of Trump, one only has to read through the various threads on this forum to see that.   There are people who would do absolutely anything to prevent a Trump win, as evidenced by 2 assassination attempts, so some will obviously. literally stop at nothing.   What they are prepared to do is limited only by their imagination  and bearing in mind the behaviour of his opponents over the last few years I would say anything . absolutely anything is possible

No, but MAGA has already threatened some voting centres, where Dems expected to be majority,  with additional security being provided. Some examples, there are others...

Do you think Seattle, Chicago, Portland, New York and Los Angeles boarding up their downtown areas because MAGAs are going to riot when Harris wins?

Or Antifa, if Trump wins, and while too early, Trump is leading.

Also covered in US media. However, provide the links claiming Harris supporters are readying for violent protest. I suggest it isn't Democratic supports, but rather fringe elements such as anarchist's , criminal opportunists. etc

I never said Harris supporters are readying for violent protest.

Why do you dodge my question and lie about what I say?

You asked...."Do you think Seattle, Chicago, Portland, New York and Los Angeles boarding up their downtown areas because MAGAs are going to riot when Harris wins? "

My answer: No, but having re-read your above post my answer would be Yes. Apologies for my error.

By my calculation, Harris will have ~223

and Trump will have ~242

without these swing states ...

... states Trump both won & lost in 2016 & 2020

WI 10
GA 16
PA 19
MI 15
AZ 11

TTL of 75 votes to play with,

Harris will need ~47

Trump will need ~28

AZ w/11 should go to Trump, considering Immigration issues.
