A significant drug bust occurred in Chon Buri when law enforcement swooped to apprehend a Thai man in possession of a large stash of methamphetamine pills.

At a routine checkpoint, police stopped the vehicle driven by Sattawat O-sot, leading to the discovery of 300,000 meth pills concealed within his car. A press conference was held by the Chon Buri Police at 3pm on Tuesday, November 5 to announce the successful interception and arrest.

The man was operating a white Honda Jazz when officers at the checkpoint noticed suspicious behaviour, prompting a thorough search of the car. Hidden in the vehicle’s trunk, inside a fertiliser bag, lay the substantial stash of meth pills. Upon discovery, Sattawat was immediately taken into custody and subjected to a urine test, which confirmed drug use.

During subsequent questioning, Sattawat revealed that he had been employed by a man known only as Tae through the LINE messaging application. Tae had instructed him to pick up the meth pills from a McDonald’s located on Bang Na Trat Road in Samut Prakan province. The drugs were to be delivered to Huai Yai Temple in the Chon Buri area. For this task, Sattawat was promised a payment of 30,000 baht. However, his plans were thwarted when he was apprehended at the checkpoint before the delivery could be completed.

Chon Buri Police have charged Sattawat with several offences, including drug trafficking of a Category 1 narcotic, driving under the influence of a Category 1 narcotic, and possession and use of a Category 1 narcotic. The seriousness of these charges reflects the gravity of the situation and the potential impact of such a large quantity of methamphetamine on the community.

The investigation does not end with Sattawat’s arrest. Police are actively pursuing leads to dismantle the broader drug network that facilitated this operation. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend other individuals involved, including the elusive Tae, to prevent the distribution of these dangerous substances.

Police are committed to tracking down the entire network involved in this operation, ensuring that all parties responsible are brought to justice, reported Pattaya News.
