Schumer Asks Republicans Not End Filibuster

Featured Replies

Kamala and Senate Leader Schumer (D-NY) pledged to end the filibuster in the Senate. Made it big part of the campaign, one of the few policies they actually disclosed. Now, after Nov. 5, Chuckie's not in love with that idea. Hypocrisy at it's finest!

"The short version is: Please don’t do to us what we were going to do to you."

The Dems did not play nice when Trump won in 2016 nor during the Biden administration.  Russia Russia Russia and jailing their political opponents.

Return the favor to them in full force on all levels and give them what they wanted.

I’m guessing all that talk of packing the court came up as well.

End the filibuster and add six originalists to the court.

Remove it and regret it in 2-4 years time. Stupid, short term politics as all democracies seem to be on.

Senate Republicans have already said they are not going to end the filibuster, which has been their position all along.

The left really do come across as hypocrites over the fillibuster, dont they. Such a surprise...

I suspect Schumer, and the rest of the left, will not be liking it when Trump expands the supreme court to include a few MAGA judges(Gaetz comes to mind if the ne'erTrumpers manage to block him becoming the AG).

Funny how the entire left wanted to stack the supreme court. Make it more modern they said, all in agreement, to say "whoah there hoss wait a minute" was racist!! And now? How many still think it a great idea? And then they act baffled when they are accused of groupthink or behaving like they are in a cult.

Can't they get rid of it for now and put it back before the next election?

I think nobody really wants it but nobody wants to say so. There  will come a time soon when they will need to remove it because there will be issues where they can't get a super majority such as arms to Ukraine or bombing Iran for example so I think the filibuster's days are numbered. The CW as far as I can tell is that if one party removes it the other won't restore it.
