My tip great grandfathers son emigrated to America, and my far distanced cousin relocated back to Norway with her family and her lab collegs in 2016, and already gained Norwegian citizenship. She and her husband both scientists and now her son studying to be dr at the Norwegian university for free. I would say thats a loss of 6 highly eductated people Usa needs in their best ages, and still productive for many years to come. 1 1

If she has the financial resources to live there ( a delightful part of the country, although expensive), qualifies for a visa and gets on with her life then good luck to her. She and her partner will benefit from a relatively peaceful place to live ( she is after all it seems at the end of her career and of retiring age) and will benefit from the National Health System - there is a "joiners fee" of some sort, but living here she will now be a UK taxpayer. 2 hours ago, Bkk Brian said: Just waiting for a reaction from our man Jeremy Clarkson on this, having dear Ellen as a neighbour lol I don't suppose he will be bothered at all, especially if she is a customer in his pub. Apart from that, I doubt whether their paths will cross. He is essentially a pragmatist, and tolerant of other people, even if he does take the piss at times; anyway,he will do what his girlfriend tells him! You have to give her credit for doing what she said she would do - although I suspect it was probably on the cards before Trumps re-election. She obviously doesn't want to be part of the rather fetid mess which is engulfing American political life, and threatens to have repercussions on all sorts of people and groups in society. So good luck to her. 2

DustyShoes Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago "However, after a closely contested race, Trump was declared the winner".... Closely?!? 5555 only in the minds of delusional leftists. Anyway, odds are "her and her husband" already had planned to relocate and just seized the news-cycle opportunity to make her irrelevant self, relevant... to only those that for whatever reason care. Oddly, hats off to her/him for the move. ALL leftist dreamers of turning the US into full-on socialist/communist should absolutely and respectfully relocate to countries more suited to their arse-backwards way of life. Please, please, please. Be the icing on America's 2024 cake of greatness. 1 1

Ok, but you have to give the Yanks a 2-for-1 for actually pushing one into The Palace. I ignore all that stuff, so I only hear about the juiciest incidents in the headlines. Best comment I've heard was Meghan complained of the royals "they were racist to me," to which Chris Rock comments "Look who they are, what did you expect? They practically invented it!" Imagine if it was Tiffany Haddish instead! 1
