He withdrew because he was becoming the topic in the woke media, and detracting from the Trump push to assemble a team to destroy the woke liberals that have been running amok for the past 4 years.

All Trump picks will suffer the same attacks, but Gaetz had too much baggage to survive, even if it wasn't true.

Hopefully Trump's team will get payback for him too.

It's going to be a great spectacle come January 21.

Good riddance.  There are more qualified and less controversial candidates that can accomplish the job without causing dissension among the GOP.

Let's see how far this goes.  To me, Gaetz is the worst of the worst.

Donny doesn't know others than "Gaetz'es", those are his people.

So give him a break.

PS. Now other great nominees have been targeted. It's all political...

"Donny" has been helping himself to breaks for oh, the last 40 odd years: draft dodging,  fiscally,  in business, with bankruptcies, criminally and now politically .

Won’t that make the lefties squeal now will it, much fun indeed!

It should make anyone with a moral compass squeal. I personally don't want to see a pedophile drug addict in the US Senate, but MAGA's leader is a rapist, so standards are quite low.

Pam Bondi is the next nomination. Bring on the smears and unsubstantiated rumors. She'll get through IMO. I previously posted Gaetz wouldn't. JFK Jnr. I'm not sure will get through which would be a shame if he didn't but even if he doesn't he will still be working to get things changed possibly in an advisory capacity. Doesn't matter who heads a Dept. the President directs the policy.

Totally agree, just reading that Dan Bongino is now slated to lead the Secret Service, and become Director now that might get some more raised eyebrows?

I wonder how many of Trump appointed people will actually start in that job.

The change of president will happen in about two months. How many of them will have resigned and/or have been fired by Trump before that?

For a job at the top, I'd me more than happy to say 'yes' all the time.

I could probably manage 'yes sir'.

Looks like Gaetz has been replaced by former FL AG Pam Bondi, a woman with an interesting history.

Perhaps her main 'qualification' is that she once led chants of "Lock her up!" re Hillary Clinton during the 2016 Republican National Convention, indicating that she isn't hampered by that 'silly' "innocent until proven guilty" thing enshrined in the US Constitution.

We love Trump:

I thought Gaetz might be used as a sacrifical lamb to placate the Democrats and make the other nominees a little easier to confirm.

No you didn't. Like any of today's GOP supports, its all about divide and conquer, nothing to do with placating the opposition.

Yes even Crusty if he rips the woke departments open to let in the light and expose their dirty dealings.

I'm expecting loads of the usual suspects to resign ahead of Jan 20.

Certainly would be looking for an escape route if I were an enlightened federal civil service employee. Life is too short to deal with the ensuing foolish mayhem of the declared disruptor.

There’s reasons for everything!

Trump just annihilated the entire Washington Establishment , by winning the chance at 47.

Do you think he and his army of loyalist haven’t figured a plan to expose and implement their will?

AG Bondi is a strong pick. She has the requisite legal background and is a very tough and smart lady.  She will do yeoman work as Trump's 'wing-person'.

Every President deserves a wing-person to do their bidding for America!

I am really sad that Gaetz had to withdraw but Trump picked another great patriot candidate. Pam Bondi.

Thanks for the post

Pam is a great choice
Ex Florida AG,

A  heavyweight  during his first run, as a surrogate.

Kinda quiet on his latest biggest comeback in American Politics.

She did some Representation of his

legal situations during the Stalinist lawfare the Doj and other dems tried

on him but was unsuccessful.

Good luck Bondi
