Police Intensify Investigation into Former Teacher’s Murder, Suspect Linked to Drug Network
UPDATE Picture from responders. Authorities are ramping up efforts to solve the fatal shooting of a retired teacher in Ayutthaya, believed to involve a suspect linked to a notorious drug network. The incident occurred on the afternoon of 18 January, when Mr. Nak Anantarangsi, 60, was shot dead in his car along Highway 3011 in Bang Pa-In district. Police investigations have identified a key suspect, known as “Mr. Tee,” who is allegedly connected to the “Jip Phai Kiew” drug network. Officers are working to gather evidence for an arrest warrant while coordinating with immigration authorities nationwide to prevent the suspect from fleeing the country. On 20 January, Pol. Col. Adirek Photipan, superintendent of Bang Pa-In Police Station, led a team, including EOD and forensic officers, in searching a one-kilometre radius around the crime scene. This followed the discovery of a discarded shirt and mobile phone near the area. However, after a two-hour search, no additional evidence was found. Investigators have interviewed seven witnesses, including the victim’s ex-wife, children, and eyewitnesses to the shooting. One crucial testimony came from a woman whose image appeared on the discarded phone. She identified the motorcycle used in the crime as belonging to Mr. Tee and confirmed that a red shirt worn by the suspect post-crime was his. Other clothing and footwear linked to the suspect are being examined to strengthen the case. Preliminary investigations reveal that Mr. Tee is connected to Noppol Prasongsil, alias “Jip Phai Kiew,” a fugitive drug network leader involved in past violent crimes. Mr. Tee, who has prior charges for firearm offences, document forgery, and attempted murder, is believed to have a history of conflict with the victim. A handwritten note found in the victim’s car referred to a court case scheduled for 28 January 2025, in which Mr. Tee is a defendant. Police suspect the two were in contact over legal disputes, with phone records showing multiple calls, including a lengthy one just before the shooting. Evidence suggests the suspect lured the victim to the scene under the pretext of discussing financial matters. Authorities are investigating whether Mr. Tee acted alone or had accomplices. The victim had reportedly acted as a legal advisor to Mr. Tee, even assisting him in surrendering to police in March 2024. However, disagreements over unresolved legal matters and financial dealings may have escalated into the fatal incident. The police continue to examine CCTV footage, witness accounts, and forensic evidence to build a comprehensive case. Efforts are also underway to locate and apprehend Mr. Tee, who is believed to be hiding in the country. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are confident in uncovering the full circumstances behind this case and bringing the perpetrator to justice. Americans are arithmatic and financial morons, so take any individual's claims of inflation with a grain of salt. They see one price rise and extrapolate that one price over the entire economy, oblivious as to what inflation actually means. They also think inflation starts in a second, rather than being a result of factors happening months or even years before. Inflation is based on a basket of goods and services it is assumed the average consumer buys. Price rises and falls are matched against the weight any one good or service has in the overall inde. These are then weighted and averaged out, and a number results. The government has a basket it uses, but private sector companies construct their own basket and come up with a number. These numbers tend to be close to each other. Inflation peaked in the last 4 years at about 9.5%, and is currently running about 2.5% +/- .2% It was never close to 20%. That is nonsense. As for its cause, numerous factors contributed. The tax cut and funds handed out during Covid were a good portion of it, as 45 ran up $8,400,000,000,000 of new debt in his first term. Since the nominal GDP change was $trillions less than his new debt, that means printed money was chasing goods and services, and even the meager growth was totally debt fueled. Boom! Inflation. His debt equates to $25,000 for every man, woman and child in the US, so it is hardly any wonder that would lead to inflation. Biden also doled out funds during Covid, so he shares some of the blame. Other contributors were the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as that resulted in sharp rises in first oil, and then fetiliizer, which impacted agricultural prices. Bacon was hurt by an outbreak in the EU of Swine Flu, which is hardly Biden's fault. Americans are stupid enough to blame Biden for inflation, but they will soon learn their chosen one has absolutely no clue how to bring any price down. -
