A fatal collision occurred late night on November 29, on the Kanchanaphisek Road in Nonthaburi, Thailand, where a man riding a motorcycle lost control, fell from an overpass, and died after being struck by another vehicle.

Police from the Bang Yai Police Station, along with rescue volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation and forensic medical personnel, rushed to the scene following the report. The incident took place near a U-turn overpass close to Wat Phra Ngern Alley in Bang Muang Subdistrict, Bang Yai District.

Upon arrival, officials found the lifeless body of a man lying on his back in the middle lane of the inbound expressway, approximately 10 metres from the overpass. The victim, later identified as Mr. Samrit, 26, from Maha Sarakham Province, was found withsignificant bleeding from his mouth, and abrasions were found all over his body.

The overpass, standing about 5 metres tall, revealed clear evidence of the crash, where a black-and-red Honda Wave motorcycle, license plate from Bangkok, belonging to the victim, was found toppled with severe front-end damage. Long scrape marks extended approximately 10 metres  along the bridge concrete railing, suggesting the rider lost control before the fall.

Police temporarily closed two lanes of the expressway to investigate, causing traffic congestion on the inbound side toward Taling Chan.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the victim’s body was projected far from the bridge’s base, likely due to being struck by another vehicle after the fall. Medical examiners observed that internal injuries, particularly head trauma from the impact, may have caused brain injuries, causing the profuse bleeding from the mouth and nose, leading to his death.

The victim’s body was transported to the Institute of Forensic Science for a detailed autopsy to confirm the cause of death. Police continue to investigate the incident, including tracing the vehicle involved in the secondary collision.
