Re-entered from Dubai in May, did 90 days online in August, and November, all OK. Extension in December, no questions. Phitsanulok. 1 1
Bertil Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 I tried reporting online twice, since 2023 (July 2023 and August 2024), after having returned from trips abroad and got rejected both these time. Subsequent reports were approved though. My agent handling my retirement extension fixed these two reports for me for 100 baht. Proof of address is my water bill which doesn't even have my name on it. Immigration office is Jomtien. (I have never done a TM30 since moving to my new address beginning of 2023.)
farang51 Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I just got my report approved. It was my very first report ever - it is the first time I will stay in Thailand more than 90 days at a time. The report was approved 70 minutes after applying. I am staying in Phuket. I am in the window of less than 15 days before and more than 7 days before I reach the 90 days. 1

arick Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I flew back in October first. Did mine yesterday online. Wait and see if it works. My immigration office said I can do my online. Last year it didn't work. When returning from a trip had the same message.
chipperPDU Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 No, FIRST report has to be in person, after that online works. 1

I did my first online report last week and got an email with an official looking form I thought was the approval, only to get the actual approval the next day. Difference in the form is that it had the following next reporting date on it. I understood you had to do the first report in person so that they could then set up the computer system to accept your online submissions?

I returned from UK on 31st May 2023 on re-entry permit and then did a 90 day online on 15th Aug 2023. I have mentioned that a few times when some say it couldn't be done. As I mentioned in a previous post I was rejected this year following a trip to the UK, I believe a change in policy. I just had a similar experience. I’ve been doing it online with no problems. I have a multiple entry visa and came back from a trip to the United States in October and just tried to file my 90 day online and it was rejected. I had to go to the office in Samut Prakan and do my 90 days in person. 1
john donson Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 the lack of communication that is possible after a rejection is horrible no reply email 1178 that gets you an automated message, let's you wait, tell you everybody busy, call back later no in-website communication either just horrible well, after my rejection, I did try again a few days later no reply for a week but then, only when you CANCEL, guys, this is GOLD ... you can input a reason, WHY YOU CANCEL I entered my info, that I DID a TM30 after moving (to bangkok) weeks ago and why the hell they could not just check that as I have a horrible 2.5 hours trip to go a few days later, when I prepared to go to CW in person, I got a surprising ACCEPTED maybe you can pin my answer ? 1

It is my understanding that the change is related to the reports being automated, possibly Phuket is not at that stage yet. You said your report took 70 minutes which would indicate human intervention. I had one last year that took 2 minutes, thought at the time they may be testing for automation. If that is the case there could well be conflicting stories for some time.

I tried to file it online, but it got rejected, the reason being that the first report must be done in person. However, I read that some people managed to do it online. The question is: how? I did it for the first time a year ago. The trick, as far as I could tell, was to have some other interaction with Immigration after you returned to Thailand but before your 90-day is due so that your current situation is updated in the system. In my case, I come back from a trip to the UK in October so the 90-day is due in January. However, my permission to stay on the retirement extension expires on January 1, so I have to apply for a new annual retirement extension in December. Last January, I then tried doing the 90-day online and it worked. I got my latest annual retirement extension earlier this week, and the next (first since I got back) 90-day is due in the first week of January. Whether it will work again or not I will only find out when I apply this time. Maybe the 90-day last January was just a fluke, we shall see.
Dirk Z Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I tried twice and got rejected. Had to show up in person. High on my harassment top-ten.

SunsetT Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Mine was accepted last year after returning on a reentry permit. And I will be trying it again next week after being away again for 6 months.

I've lived here 20y and if I remember right your first one you go to the outside windows at phuket town windows. They are quick but you might have 2 or 3 infront of you. Then your 2nd one do online.

lou norman Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 I did it yesterday and received approval today. First one since December 2024 extension. I have no idea why it worked. 2 1
treetops Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Another refusal here when submitted online following a trip outside Thailand. Jomtien immigration office. No reason given this time which I have received in the past. This was also using a new account following the previous email address being discontinued, but not sure if that had any effect on the outcome.
SooKee Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Just got my rejection mail from Chaeng Wattana: "Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected. For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required."

I understand they perhaps want to tie it in to the TM30 system but I did the TM30 the day I got back so it could be cross checked. Maybe the two systems can't communicate until the first 90 day has been put in manually. Whatever the reason, I no longer try to fathom their logic, it's a PITA. Had I not got something to do at IMPACT on Monday I wouldn't bother TBH. Without an appointment (my bad for thinking that I could still do it online, not had to do one since 2020) there could be a long wait in addition to the 2 hour round trip plus around THB 400 in travel costs. That would make the fine only 1,600 in reality, just do a 90 day when I have to go again to renew the extension in Feb. But I'm at IMPACT so "easy" enough to do it.

You need to post the TM47, 15 days prior to due date. TM30 not tied to the report. It's pretty much bullet proof. Might be option for future reports.
