They are literally everywhere now. In every tourist hotspot, in every condo building, in every restaurant and on every train, Thailand is littered with these Russian draft dodgers who show a complete disregard for local laws and customs.

No, literally, they are not in every condo building, every restaurant and every train in Thailand and you have no way of knowing which, if any of them, are draft dodgers.  If they are, it has bugger-all to do with you, or anyone else, except their government.

...The war is still ongoing and more Russian cannon fodder is needed.

Why are they sunning themselves on Thai beaches?

Let me check

...

They don't want to die for the stupid cause of a vicious dictator?

Yes, I have.

I just come straight out and ask them.

Most of them admit that they are.

The one year required service (with exemptions for health, going to college, etc.) is a totally separate thing from being in the war.

That one year under Russian law does not include going to war.

The actual fighters have been gathered other ways, there was mobilization before, others threatened, high paying contracts (basically bankrupting Russia the idiots), out of prisons, persuading people in trouble with the law or in debt to go to war instead.

Perhaps they have done their required one year of military service.

Why are they sunning themselves on Thai beaches?

So what, if they've already served as required or maybe in the category that does not have to serve?   Why shouldn't they sun themselves on a beach, is it not allowed?

Younger Russians not as much.

It's impossible to have objective surveys in a society where speaking against the war invites prison.

There is always the threat of more mobilizations. Putin loves to mostly get cannon fodder from far provinces (poorer and more minorities)  in order the reduce visible funerals in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

It shouldn't be.

IMO all Russian visas should be cancelled until their illegal invasion of Ukraine comes to an end.

That's as likely to be true as your Russian/Japanese family comparison story is.

Just your opinion.

Yes.

I did preface the statement in my reply with a firm 'IMO'.

Am I not allowed to have an opinion?

Russian enter Thailand visa-free, how would those "visas" be cancelled?

Easy. Just end free visas for Russians, and any other visa category.

Like many other countries have already done.

If Thailand has any self-respect they should definitely follow suit..

No, you did not preface that comment with anything and yes, you are allowed an opinion, did anyone say that you aren't?   Here's your "unprefaced" comment...

If Putin ceased the Russian war in Ukraine then Russians would be acceptable ?

So Russians  who you say are avoiding war (enmasse) in Thailand are scum ?

Try some consistency in your pot stirring bs is MHO.

Just the other day I had a bust up with a Russian mother about how her son was behaving in public, I told her straight that she should be embarrassed and she should teach him how to do things correctly.

Hey Bob, did she slap you upside the head? Yes? Well then good for you, you well deserved it and maybe a few more for meddling in other people’s parenting decisions.

...Well it looks like the AN members have spoken and the NO's firmly have it!!

66% in favor of not having Russians in Thailand.

Thanks to all that voted.

Your question was wrong, it should be "Do the AN forum members want Russians here?"

How about the Thais not working in the tourist industry or any other visitors like the Chinese, Malaysians or Indians?

Low class stuff as usual here

Your continual use of the inaccurate phrase " leftist ideology" is border line pathetic. When you cant present any logical statement its you generic go to.
